Articles and outsourcing

Hey WF,

I used odesk to hire someone from the Philippines to get some articles written, now i was obviously expecting them to be of a lower standard than an native speaking English writer but i'm a little disappointed with the quality.

I'm doing this primarily as a backlinking strategy, does it always matter about the quality. The articles that are going on my blog will be written by myself.

I know quality does matter but when its just for backlinks????

Maybe i should find another writer?

Well if you really are not bothered about quality then you could just spin them or get someone to spin them for you.

But why put poor quality out there?

I am not saying you need to spend a fortune on articles, you can pick up a decent 250 word article for $2 a pop.

Recently bought 50 on elance like this and they where well written and researched.

If you're unhappy with one writer, find yourself another. You may have to pay a few dollars more, but it will be worth it. Only consider applicants who have a very high rating. I've had success finding excellent writers on oDesk, so I know they're out there.

Try Plr articles already written have them rewrite a couple if you do not have time or go to Fiverr and find an English speaking gig for $5 bucks.

If your articles are just for backlinking purposes, quality doesn't is as important as if you want to get direct traffic from them.

However, my question is: What do you thing is better 1 good article or 5 bad ones?

I think that a good article is more likely to be republish by others, what will increase the number of backlinks one single article can generate.

      Hi,

I would recommend the same as mentioned above:
      1) use PLR to get some decent written content and get a re-write.
      2) get another VA. Try Marx here from WF. He runs a pretty popular outsourcing service on WF.
      3) Test their English ;-) There are English language tests out there and they don't cost a fortune!

      Best
      Sven

PS: You already took the plunge, so their is a great chance that you will find some decent and affordable VA sooner or later, but I wouldn't continue with the old one...

I agree other people can use your articles on their sites increasing your back links. Your traffic might surge from the articles as well if you have high quality content and it can come directly from other people using your content. Also think about your brand. Other people might Google your site before buying from you. If you have quality out there eventually that will be your business better than something that is low quality.

If your articles are even 70% decent and readable, they should earn you credibility too.

Well if you don't want to write the articles yourself, just try again with another writer. Just because that first one didn't work out, doesn't mean that you won't find another one.

I agree--keep looking. I hired someone from the Philippines with great English speaking and writing and for the most part, pretty natural language. Try onlinejobs.ph.

G'day dirtyroger. I'd look for another writer to re-write articles, set them specific instructions (keywords, etc) and be prepared to make some edits - this will be a better use of your time than writing from scratch.

I'd focus on finding a few good source articles as it'll be easier for someone to rewrite an article that's written well in the 1st place. Good luck

Quality always matters when it comes to article writing, I have been in the article writing business for quite a while and have also worked on ODesk, I guess as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I personally believe that by having bad quality material out there in order to build back links you will be lowering your standards and the way in which others will perceive you all together.

Rather write them yourself or as you mentioned, find another quality writer and establish a good relationship with them so that they understand exactly what it is that you expect.

You can put some poor quality articles out there for back links but I feel like it is better to always put quality out before quantity. With a bunch of bad articles out there, you look like a spammer.

Usually you just have to pay more for a better written article.

Think about it this way -- anyone who stumbles upon your article is looking for genuine information. They're not going to read a poorly-written article and think, "Oh, he's just publishing this for a quick backlink, so I understand why it's bad." Instead, readers are going to think, "Wow, he really doesn't know what he's talking about," or "Wow, why buy from him - he can't even get simple grammar right!"

Article marketing does 2 things -- it gives you backlinks, and (if it's written well with solid information) it establishes you as an expert. Sure, a poorly-written article may fetch you a backlink from an article directory. However, a great article will not only get the backlink from the article directory, but it also stands a great chance of getting picked up by other people - which can give you a bunch of backlinks.

Im sorry about your plight roger. I would suggest you check out a writer first with 1 or 2 articles.

Regardless of the purpose you want these articles for, quality should be a major factor.

If its not, then you are far better off scraping articles from EZA then have them spun for an even cheaper alternative.

    Hope this helps.

Pay good money to a solid writer to write solid content for you or write the articles oyurself and then spin them and submit to the top 20-30 directories - its as simple as that.

If you intend on doing this on a larger scale or for a long period of time and want to cut costs, then you can dictate the articles to an outsourcer (record the audio and let them transcribe). This works extremely well if you need articles on a subject that you are an expert in since you don't have to do too much research...

    Good luck

I agree with people here who say that quality articles are more attractive to both web publishers and people looking for good information. There's so much crap out there already.

I have a few authority sites, simply from putting out articles that people enjoyed.

However, everyone has there own way of doing things, so you've got to follow your desired path and see what happens.
