I Just Got an Unexpected $347 Bonus Dollars Thank You!

In a recent discussion with a friend of mine who has his own IT solutions business I was asked to help one of his clients with some keyword research.

To be honest I did not really fancy doing it as I am a bit busy with my own stuff.

With this in mind I put together a proposal with what I considered to be hiked prices in the hope of putting him off.

Anyway I just had an email from my buddy confirming that his client wants to proceed even with my inflated rates ( got to say I guessed).

Long story short I am going to earn just under $347 for a couple of hours work next week … as you can imagine I am now interested in doing the work

My friend tells me if it goes well he has a few other customers he wants me to talk too … think I may have uncovered a new market to pursue

Opportunities come many times. Yes, they don't come once but the problem is that we tend to miss them sometimes.

I'm happy you didn't miss this one. Yes, you have just found a new market. Pursue and overtake it!

However, make sure it doesn't take a toll on your health and happiness.

I think one of the moral from this is that you should never under pay yourself. If you believe your work is worth $1000, ask that for it. Just be sure that it is worth that and you will give the job your best so that the customer will be satisfied.

      Also, Congratulations!

        Absolutely true!

If I get another client as a result of this one I am going to push up the rate and see if they accept it.

A few of these a month and I will be very happy.

Congratulations. If you are in offline marketing you can definitely quote higher rates since people are willing to pay higher rates and get the work done.

Cheers, I recently got an offer to start doing SEO/SEM for a few large companies out of the blue. I have always done SEO on my own sites but never for anyone else. Anyways, good luck on your new venture

Awesome and congratulations. The story reminds me of a friend who has a roofing business. His rule has become: the steeper the roof, the higher my bid.

Great job. So is this client an offline business owner? Going by the amount of money you mentioned, that may be the case here it sounds - or am I wrong on my intuition?

        Hi Fred

The end client is a business consultant who does business seminars ... so yes he is offline.

Talking to my contact a little more this afternoon this type of work is looking likely to become a regular gig for me.

Very happy if it works out but will never neglect my niche sites ... still got plans
