Lost Rank - need help

Hi, not sure if anyone can help me but I though I would put this out there to see...

I had a Christmas site that was on page 1 for its keyword (competition of around 30 million at the time). It made it there after being live for about 1 week, no backlinking at that point, just seo. Then the server that the site was on went down and for about 5 days had a message that said "forbidden." During this time it slipped to page 4 then to oblivion.

Now the site is live again and I would like to know - is there any way I can quickly get my site back up to page 1? I do have a couple articles out there but that's about it, for now. I did not put this is the WSO section because I did not want to be bombarded with offers. But if you know of one that really can help, please let me know. Or if you know a good strategy that might work quickly - please let me know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Cindy P.

Well considering the fact that you have no backlinks... Start backlinking?

Yes - I am aware that I need back links. Thank you for that. The question is more in the way of - is there a back linking method that would work more quickly for a site that was once ranked but dropped due to server issues. If you don't know, then please do not answer. But - if you know that it is not possible and the only option is to just use the usual article marketing, forum posting, blog posting, etc. and keep my fingers crossed, then just break the news to me gently.

I'd probably start with Ezine backlinks... Of course I haven't done forum posting and blog posting for like a year... I just use SENuke for building links... & My blog network for any high PR backlinks

      What he said.

Your page was most likely on the front of google while they decided where to place you. Especially with 30mil competing websites.

You will need to do some SEO competition analysis to find out what your competitors backlinks look like, how old their domains are, what directories they are apart of and formulate your strategy from there.

Don't worry you will get the ranking again if it was server problem. If google detects your server is down for sometime they may penalized your but you will get the ranking very soon if you just bookamark your url.

You obviously need to have backlinks from high PR blogs which I am sure you know. And since its a Christmas Blog then the sooner the better. With that being said if you have some way of getting those links somewhat quickly i.e. semi automated or getting bookmarked, articles and contextual links etc This is the only real answer unfortunately.

Especially with a keyword with 30 mil competition. My theory if it made it once in a week then there must be some very strong on page SEO so it can be done again but with help.

I am doing some linking for a friends site and have time to work on another so if you need additional help let me know. I will offer you help for free. No worries.

You have all been extremely helpful and give me hope - thank you. If you guys don't mind two specific questions; always wanted to try SENuke - think now might be my time as it may help with this problem, or is the learning curve too steep for the time constraint? (On-page seo is strong, I have experience with blog posting, article writing/posting/spinning, web 2.0 properties, etc.) And "vpgemini," is it okay if I pm you? Really - Thanks, everyone. Very much appreciated.
