How do you link your facebook and twitter account to your WP blog?

I've looked everywhere in the dashboard and cannot find it anywhere.

You'll need to use a wordpress plugin - something like Socialite

I've just installed Socialite, and I cannot locate any options to add your accounts. I basically want my FB and Twitter in my footer of blog.

  this plugin allows your to publish to your twitter and facebook.
  
  if you just want the links in the footer you can go to Appearance>Editor then find footer.php and edit that to add in your links

I would like to suggest you to go for the themes which already give some social networking plugins or features. You will not have to this tough job at all.
