Best place to learn internet marketing

There's so many 'gurus', books, courses, etc etc etc... what one's actually the "best" in the field to learn from where newbies can learn more about how to make money online without throwing their money down the drain?

    I do agree that the forum is a great place to learn BUT don't get overwhelmed with people claiming "make thousands in 24 hours" etc. You don't need to buy into all these systems. Like Joe.Mc said above, start by picking a way to go and stick to that. Don't be tempted by "the next best thing", and remember that things that sound too good to be true usually are.

    There's a lot to learn here. Good luck!

    The only way to truly learn Internet Marketing is to actually try it. Obviously you need some direction but you won't learn much until you get actual experience. The only ways I have ever made money thus far is in actually doing things myself instead of trying to get someone else to teach me how to do them.

      Warrior Forum has lots of skilled internet marketers and they do share their action plans here on this forum with other warriors.

      I'd also recommend ProBlogger.com forum by Darren Rowse. It's mainly for bloggers but I've learned a lot more than just blogging from there.

    The problem with using a forum to learn IM is that you can spend years reading all the great posts, but never get to first base due to the difference of opinions, lack of direction etc etc.

    A real newbie needs guidance, a place to start, direction. You do not get that from forums. You need a plan of what to learn first, then second etc. There is a lot involved in IM, and don't let anyone tell you any different.

    It's unbelievable that in this day and age there are no universities or colleges doing two year courses in Internet Marketing. Never mind - just keep on clocking on here to the forum and in two years or less you will be making money from home.

    There are many good tools a techniques for internet marketing. It is up to you to decide what works best for you. Don't get overwhelmed and buy stuff that you don't need. Take the tools that work and build with them.

    Forums are nice, and this forum in particular is great, but forums aren't the BEST place to learn IM. In fact, at times a forum (including this one), can set you back -- there can be some misinformation posted as fact, some myths stated as truths, some subjective experiences posted as objective advice.

    If you're serious -- REALLY serious -- then the best place to learn IM is in a 1-on-1 mentoring program from a successful internet marketer. It likely won't be cheap, but if you pick the right person to mentor you, then I virtually guarantee that what you learn (and the doors that will be opened to you) will blow away anything you'll find in any forum, any membership site, or any course.

    That said, if you want to get started at a low cost, then I highly recommend you join the War Room immediately.

    A book on Internet Marketing, video tutorials can also help a lot..Experimenting is another way of learning. Try things yourself and learn from your mistakes. Discussion with the experts is beneficial (Forums like this one can help in this regards)...You just need to have the thirst of knowledge and motivation to keep yourself going.....

    This forum has TONS of free info. Look around the posts with many post views. Keep asking questions and I am sure many warriors are more than happy to offer you help.

    Knowing the types of IM and the one you want to be involved in is crucial. The common ones are CPA, affiliate marketing, article marketing, PPC, SEO and product creation. Another key thing to know when starting is knowing what niche you want to work on. Then there many IM jargons such as whitehat, greyhat, blackhat, WP and etc that you will pick up during your IM journey.

    However, if you want to learn about affiliate marketing, Affiliate Marketing Training Portal | Affilorama (not an affiliate link) is a good place to start. The free info there really helped me get started because it is very organized compared to browsing through forum aimlessly. I learnt about PPC, SEO etc on that site using the free info.

    IMPORTANT: Do not feel overwhelmed by the tremendous among of info. Do one that at a time and be efficiency. TAKE ACTION, and you will be successful

    Internet Marketing is a business like any other and there is no shortcut or magic button. You have to set a plan of what you want to achieve, define the method that you want to use, read up on it (here and in the War Room etc.), see what others do and say about it (here and in the War Room) and then try it. Take action. See what works and what don't. Develop your skills.

    Another place I often recommend is The Challenge

    Definitely start with those All-in-One threads though. Once you wade through a few of those you will have a pretty thorough education and no what you want to focus on.

    A while back I stumbled onto who offered video training courses where he showed and explained how he has used the internet to make millions over the last few years. He keeps a low profile and tells it like it is. You really need to understand that there is no short-cut to millions, but there are many tools and techniques that you must understand.
    As we started talking, I found that my perspective for marketing online changed dramatically! I went from a "sell attitude" to "how can I help"
