Keyword Research... RELOADED
I must admit to being a tad bit stumped on my keyword research efforts. I've been using the Google Keyword tool for quite a while now, and had always relied on it for my numbers, as my sites seem to rank particularly well within Google.
However, I have recently noticed quite a few individuals claiming that the Google Keyword Tool is not reliable for SEO. Learning this, I decided to do some research of my own. I headed over to the SEO Book tool, as this seems to be one of the favorites from what I'm hearing when it comes to delivering accurate results.
With many many years under my belt within the mortgage and finance industry, I decided to do a comparison:
1 - I searched for mortgage marketing and loan officer training
2 - I then searched for the same using Googles keyword tool
The SEO Book tool showed a total of 13 daily clicks for Mortgage Marketing, and even fewer for Loan Officer Training
Google on the other hand showed 40,000 searches per month for mortgage marketing and 12,000 permonth for loan officer training. Being knee deep within a desperate industry, I can guarantee you that the SEO Tools results do not even approach accuracy.
I have a single that gets around 40 - 50 hits a day that lo's find with the keyword "mortgage marketing." I also personally know the owners of many "loan officer training" businesses ranking in the top 1 - 5 positions, and I can tell you, these guys get a lot of traffic off that keyword, and the battle wouldn't be sever for a term getting 10 - 13 clicks per day.
(Not to mention a group of 280,000 individuals all desperately looking for marketing solutions in this crazy time period would surely amount to more than 13 - 15 clicks per day)
So I'm obviously much more inclined to believe Google rather than the alternative, and would love to get some feedback. Yes, I understand that one muct consider the fact that many long tail keywords would need to be factored as well to get a true glimpse of what sort of traffic is being generated by this group...
But based on my own tracking of how people are finding my blogs and sites, I am outpulling each day what the SEO Book claims... Any feedback as to what is happening here? I do not wish to continue using a tool that is faulty, nor do I wish to make a switch if the alternative is just as faulty....
