Creating the perfect upsell
On Sunday night I went out for a curry for a friend's birthday...
The staff were rude. Some of my chicken was still raw in the middle. They even added some extra food to the table that we didn't order.
By the end of the meal I was still hungry but when the dessert menus were thrown on the table by the waiter I just wanted to get out of there.
On Monday night I went out for Tapas for a different friend's birthday...
The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. They even added a couple of bonus dishes noting "It's on the house".
By the end of the meal I was absolutely stuffed and knew it wouldn't be hard to turn down dessert...
... Until they wheeled the trolley over next to me and I could smell the oranges soaked in caramel.
