MAC users: free PDF converters?

As a Windows person, I'm not up on Mac software, so need some recommendations on decent free text to PDF converters for the Mac. There are several for Windows, so I figure there has to be some for "the other platform", too. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • There's one built in..

Open your text document, file -> print and at the botton left-hand corner of the print dialogue you will see pdf options. Try 'Save as PDF' and voila..

    Have fun!

    • Yep, easy peasy... you can convert anything into PDF...

For my e-books, reports, etc. I just use Open Office writer or Google Docs which easily exports document to PDF (both are free).

  • Alan beat me to it

I actually work with a partner creating ebook layout designs. She runs on a Mac while I run on Windows....and we both use OpenOffice Writer.

Seems to work out fine. And Ooo Writer provides you with "one click" PDF creation, so text to PDF would be super simple.

  • Whoa! You mean Macs really come with PDF conversion as a feature? No need to install anything? So if you didn't have Open Office, you could still get a PDF? I'm amazed.

    Thanks, everyone.
