I dont think IM niche is saturated as the market is huge...theres lots of competition but is a huge market...you still can make money...for example...there are thousands of different keyword phrases that are being used to search for information on the topic...if you get traffic for one of these keyword phrases you can make money...

It is not highly saturated, 1000s of new products are created daily and millions of happenings daily.

There are many saturated niches like ****, it is just finding the new ones before they become saturated.

I never see markets as saturated...

Should I choose to do so, I honestly believe that if I make a competitive effort, I can usually secure my own success in any market, except for one... Big Finance...

And I am not hampered in Big Finance because the market is saturated, but rather because all of the competitors in that market have deep, deep pockets for marketing... They can easily outspend me daily...

I dont think IM is saturated at all... What I do see are many "crappy" launches lately.

As I said before I dont think its saturated, I think that it has bad reputation thanks to this "easemoneymakinggetrichquick" systems that all they do is to create a bad reputation to IM.

There are still lots of keywords and niches (as someone said above) that are still there to be discover.

Patience and courage is what it takes!

Agreed - I think that IM is satured with tons of crappy products. There are only a few gems here and there. In fact, most internet guru's that make "big bucks" are making money online by selling products about making money online. Then those people learn the ropes and make money online by selling products about making money online. It's like a vicious circle. Even people that don't know how to make money online are selling products to make money online. Ironic, isn't it?

Anyway, that's why I've stopped buying useless products and have started sticking to what skills I've learned and what I know. Like I said, there are a few great products out there from people that really know their stuff AND care about their business and helping others. But, those are few and far between.

There are lots of saturated topics. If you're looking for the best niches to get into, then you'll have to go through trial and error like most of us have.

Also, many people are still able to carve out a profitable piece of the pie in a saturated niche. They just find something unique to offer. I agree that if you promote something of high quality and value, that will go a long way with people.

You'd be surprised how many niches can be broken down into even smaller niches.

And in many cases if the 1/marketing 2/product or service and 3/price is right - people who are buyers in that niche will still buy a product - even it is 99% identical to another product they already own!

Saturation in a market only becomes a problem for the entrepreneur when they don't have the best 1/marketing 2/product or service and 3/price or the best combination of the three

  Can't completely agree with this. The advice to pick the low hanging fruit is not flawed, it's simply incomplete.
  
  It should read "pick the low hanging fruit first", and then work on harvesting as much of the other ripe fruit as you can.
  
  Constantly running from grove to grove looking for fruit you can easily reach takes longer and is actually riskier than finding a few trees that provide good fruit, and shaking them for all you can get.

Nice point to bring up tpw...

When I see a saturated market, lights go off in my head because I know I could make some money from it.

Most of the viewers of this forum are those that have nothing to invest up front other than their time and they more than likely don't know much about how to run a successful online business.

When you present a saturated niche (ex. IM) to this group of people, they start trying to build a following using the classic free techniques...articles, videos, forums, etc. Most will dwindle out because of the extreme amounts of hard work involved to build a following from nothing.

Now when you show this same niche to someone who has some financial backing, it's a different story. The first day they hear about a saturated niche, they are able to just throw some coin at it. $1000 here for outsourcers to do all the freebie stuff none of us want to do....$1000 for advertising...$1000....plus whatever else they want to do. They have qualified traffic coming on day 2...they are making money on day 2....

Don't think because a niche is saturated that you can't be the best in it...you just have to be the best in it. All the best aren't just writing articles, videos, etc....In saturated markets, they have financial backing to make it grow and grow and grow.

You can definitely make money from nothing in any niche...just can't expect to see results tomorrow if you are doing all of it yourself.

the reason they are 'saturated' is because they are profitable. Only if one thinks they are not a very good marketer would that ever keep you out of a market.

I knew a 12 year old who played a back in peewee football. When running down field with the ball, if there were opposing players in the way, he would cut direction and run right at them! (Not away, like most others). Led the team in running TDs.

There are so many mediocre marketers in every niche making money, that with the knowledge and resources available to you here, no reason you shouldn't be killer in any niche. The 'advice' of always aiming for the low hanging fruit is (IMHO) flawed. Usually, that fruit is hanging low because it is rotten.

While I am sure that this can sometimes be true, I can assure you from personal experience as a 'bottom-dweller' that the fruit down here isn't all rotten, lol. IMHO, I see the fruit at the bottom as being easy to reach, which let's you get full and gain more energy to let you reach the fruit at the top tomorrow

I would tend to agree, a market is only saturated if it's completely dead. Just because there are hundreds or thousands of people selling in the marketplace doesn't mean you can't be one more. Just make sure you differentiate yourself and make yourself visible. I feel like it's just as difficult to find and exploit emerging markets as it is existing ones.
