help help help !!! Okay..An advise will also do!!!

Hello warriors,
I want to get few clients outside the warrior forum for my website designing service.
I am thinking of applying the following methods
A) Posting an ad on craigslist.
B) Searching small business owners on local business directories..
C) Looking their google maps listing...

But the main problem is that i cannot get email id from every business listing. How could i contact them? Most probably business owners will be in different city so i cannot meet them face to face.

What should i do? Are there any other strategies? Please help me.

        Yeah..I know i only waited for 7 minutes..but in that 7 minutes my thread was quickly going down very quickly.....so i just bumped the thread....

    The strategies you want to follow are good but have you considered setting up an ad in Warrior For Hire section. It will cost you some $40 but my friends have always told me that it's worth your while and every penny you spent.

        Go to Ezinearticles.com. Go to the Category that talks about Web design. Check the names of the Authors under the Web design Category. Check their web sites one by one. Look for the contact form in their sites. Use the contact form to reach them, telling them about your service.

        I think that it will work.

        I also think I have just made your day by giving you an out-of-the-box idea.

            Just tell them what you want. Be honest and straight to the point because most business don't have enough time to read fluffs.

            Some of them may not respond to your email or message at all. but I think some of them will be interested in what you have to offer if you make yourself clear enough for them to understand where you are coming from, what you want from them and what they stand to gain at the end of the day.

            There's no commision attached to it for them to take or ask. It's a business proposal - you want to offer them service.

            Be as unique as possible.

      It's difficult to get the attention of business owners via email. I don't think they respond well to unsolicited inquiries.

      Why don't you do the Craigslist ad and see what happens?

      This is a quick way to gauge interest in your service.

      Also, you could collect addresses and mail them a postcard advertising your service.

    Ask yourself these question first -

    1. Where would this target audience hang out online?

    2. Are you targeting or comfortable with a specific industry vertical (fashion, restaurants etc).

    My advice is go for specific niche industry sites, and estabilish yourself as an expert in say building Restaurant sites. Then offer to build a free site for a famous but small restaurant that is known in the industry (amongst competitors). This will be your key doorway. Then go approach the competition and show them what you did and how you can make a "better" site. Mostly, don't approach a direct competitor like the same cuisine - go for another cuisine when you are looking.. that way its not direct competition and they are all comfortable.

    3. I would highly suggest you then go for Google Adwords local targetting if you have a small budget. Google is dishing out plenty of free Adwords coupons worth $30 to $50... and you can find these easily. Infact you can also do regional targeting with Facebook (who are also giving out via Amex free ad credits). Its a fierce war - and you can benefit by getting a lot of free ads on these top networks. Just figure out the type of sites they would hang out on and target these site (geographically / city based).

    Other unique ways would be to visit the local Library and insert a mini-flyer inside the books or magazines they may read / borrow... or even sell your new/used books on Amazon and put your inserts in them.

    Just think outside the box!
