profile backlinks - to ping or not to ping?

Hi fellow warriors!

Someone is kindly building some online profiles for me. Question is - should I ping the profile pages, or let google discover them naturally?

Does google find online profiles easily? Or does it need a little help?

Thanks in advance!
Justin

For me Justin, it depends on the age of the site. If it is brand new and I buy 100 profile links, I just let them sit and have google find them naturally. If the site has some age, I ping them.

I just dont like to through a bunch of links at a new site. I know others might disagee but it is just the way I do it.

Its a tricky question to answer.

On the one hand, unless you are talking about 10k profile links to a single domain or something, IMHO you don't have to worry about some sort of google hit or anything, even for a brand new site. Again, this is just my experience.

But, my experience has also been that these days pinging is only slightly better than totally useless. That is, I would never dream of doing it by hand or anything as that is just not worth it. But, if you had a bulk pinger that didn't require any of your time, then sure ping them.

Depends on the amount of links you get and if your site is new or not. Normally I don't ping them because I want my link building to look more natural.

Does Google find everything? Does it find profiles from a long list?

Is it better for google to find a profile through it's own domain listing, or through a ping or bookmark?

If you've got a ton of profile backlinks, pinging ALL of them individually can be a tedious task.

There's a faster way to get your profile backlinks indexed quickly:

          - Take a group of profile backlinks and combine them using an RSS masher.

          - Now you'll have a unique RSS url that consists of this group of profile backlinks.

          - Submit this unique RSS url to the RSS aggregators.

          To your success,
          Matt

What type of backlinks would you backlink? Any? Or just articles/videos?
