Absolutely! And I hope that alot of other Warriors would, too. Guest blogging is a powerful way to market yourself, because it's great way to get your name, your link, and your knowledge in front of targeted traffic. People get so caught up in other marketing techniques, that I think guest blogging tends to get overlooked a bit.

  I was offered an opportunity to do a series in a magazine related to my offline niche. It ran in every issue of the print magazine for a year and was wonderful exposure. It was well worth my time and effort. ;-)

I think if I was asked to write a Guest Blog, I would look for a few things. First, Do-Follow would be important. Second, I would want to be sure that website received traffic. Third, I would inspect the previous articles on the blog to see if they are professional quality.
Also, if I was asked to write as a guest blog and agree'd, I would offer the blog owner a chance to write a guest blog on my own blog to strengthen the relationship, and to help them as they would be helping me.

I run a local blog, so I would if it would be something relevant to what I am doing. Guest blogging can really be a great way to get your name to the masses and boost your own reader count. Like most of the others are saying, I wouldn't be doing it on a brand new blog that has no traffic (unless perhaps my blog was the same way, which isn't the case).

I also agree with what Teravel said about the other owner writing on my blog as well. I think a good swap like that could benefit both blogs involved.

Yes!! Guest blogging in compatible niches is an awesome way to get in front of new audiences and reap the benefits from the positive relationship your host has already created. I think it has way more impact than random article marketing and press releases because of that trusted relationship and established audience already in place.

Kicking into coaching mode...

Reach out to other WOF members and send them an already written post you think would be perfect for their audience! They'll get great content and you'll be perceived as a trusted expert to their subscribers.

How do you get ideas for posts? Read their latest blog entries and write a response article with your passion and expertise thrown in there! Then contact the blog host with your article with an offer for them to be featured on your blog!

It's a win/win!

Something even easier and perceived with greater value...

Offer to interview them on one of their products they are promoting and then offer to share the interview with their community and your subscribers! That could turn into a huge lead generator for you both!

(This one act of generosity part of my 7 step system to launching big mission products has given me exclusive interviews with best selling authors, multi-millionaire entrepreneurs and award winning community leaders which ultimately landed me jvs and speaking gigs with these people within one fast moving year's time!)

I understand that most of you are willing to do guest blogging in some sort.
But what should a person do if he just started a blog and wants people who already have successful blogs and are stated as an "expert" to guest blog on his small blog? (And no i am not personally looking for guest bloggers)

It's really hard to start and marketers, who already are making some money, usually interact with people who already have a experience of some sort.

I understand that when you start you have to work hard to get a reputation, but like in every other aspect of life, getting that reputation is easier if someone helped you in some steps.

As i see that some of you have written longer answers thus my question would be like this: Would you commit your time to write a small article in someone elses blog? Even when that blog is quite new and has small traffic (but has potential of getting bigger traffic)

I run a free service to connect bloggers and guest bloggers called Blogger LinkUp. Many of my members have said that they are willing to post on new blogs that do not yet have much of an audience, IF the blogger is willing to accept previously published material.

Most are not willing to write something exclusively for a blog that will probably not deliver much/anything in the way of traffic, but they will provide existing content in exchange for a link.

Even though that post might not ever rank well in the SERPs for you, there are still some good reasons to accept previously published content.

One, it gives you more credibility. When people come to your blog and see posts from respected experts, they have more respect for your blog.

Two, it gives you more content for visitors and can keep them on the site longer.

Three, the more established blogger may do some bookmarking, linking or other promotion of the post that can send traffic your way (even if only temporarily) and expose a new audience to your blog.

Yes, guest posting is a powerful tool to expand your presence and add value to a fellow bloggers' cyber real estate.

Always submit your best stuff. Some guest posters hold back but this is the wrong way to go. Wherever you go make an impression.

Yes, I would. It's also a good way to set additional traffic. For example, if I'll have a guest on my blog too, they can promote my blog to read their entry written on my site. Once others read my blog, they may go over my entries and be my possible followers as well if they liked my content.

I think it would be worth writing a guest blog post on a new blog - the post is up there; the links are on it and if the blog you have written for takes off - well so do your traffic figures.

Never underestimate the power of the internet to surprise you and make something happen in just one moment, lol.

For sure. If the guest blog has relative content and pagerank then you are mad not to.

You can get loads of traffic as well as a link back to your site.

Always try and use anchor text for the link, most important.

I write guest posts for a regular writing client, and they're placed on blogs with page rank 3-7 for good backlinks. If it didn't work, he wouldn't be paying me good money for my writing.

I've also had people approach me to put a guest post on one of my blogs. If the article is well written and relevant, I do. Some of the articles I've been sent are only remotely connected with my niche, so I politely decline.

This is the answer that makes sense.

All that other junk about do-follow, pagerank, certain plugins... Too many of y'all are obsessed with backlinks to the exclusion of human eyeballs. I've yet to see a spider buy a product or join a list, but people do it all the time.

[On a side note, there is no such thing as "do-follow" - there is only no-follow and 'not no-follow'. I know some templates use a rel=do-follow tag, but it doesn't mean anything.]

under things you don't allow, maybe they're just spending time crafting original content for you. Or not.

The way I see it, you had a flash that you could set up this forum (and probably others) by asking a question you knew would likely get a positive response, and spring your little surprise.

At this point, you don't offer anything for 'guest bloggers' other than the vague promise of a backlink. There's no market, no audience, no real direction to envision a future audience. Just you and DoubleClick.

First of all i don't want it to become an argument between us, but calling me a jackass is even low for you

Because you don't know ANYTHING about me and what i have done so far! i might be new to this forum but im not new to marketing.
I have two successful companies built from scratch in my country, and now i'm looking for new challenges. I know the site is not so ATTRACTIVE to you as you would like it to be, but there are many other who like it!
But it's a work in progress. And I intend to work on the site until it reaches it goal!

I asked these questions here because i wanted to know if there would be a interest in this sort of a site. And there is interest.

This is not meant to be a promo! All i want to know is what people think about the site and how could I make it better for users.

tonis, first things first...

My response was triggered by your second post after offering your new site. It did indeed sound harsh, like you were expecting to post the link and find Warriors lining up to guest post. Concluding with a statement that you were laughing at us.

At that point, I said it sounded more like the braying of a jackass. I did not call you a jackass.

One thing you are correct about, though. I don't know anything about you, your accomplishments or your knowledge. How would I? All I have to go by is a five-letter screen name, a link to brand new site, and a post which sounded like the text equivalent of a temper tantrum.

Maybe we didn't see the vision you had. You really didn't give us much to go on. All we had to work with was an anonymous entity who has been a member here for a few months, made a handful of posts, and started a topic that - quite conveniently - he had an offering for.

Fine. The topic had merit, generated interest and provided some valuable posts. Then comes the post after your announcement of your new site.

In our shoes, what would you think? Keep in mind that many others have tried to do exactly what I implied (perhaps wrongly - perhaps) that you did.

By the way, how did you come up with the idea that calling you a jackass was low "even for me"? What do you know about me that allows you to make a loaded statement like that?

I also agree that this should not turn into an argument between the two of us. Other than curiosity about how you might answer my last questions, I'm willing to drop it...

  I must agree with you! But im not here to but the site up and hope that you all run to blog or something like that... I know that in marketing this will never happen.
  
  But since i'm really active on what i do then i don't want to waste any time. I know that building a relationship takes time etc etc... But you can also build a relationship by trusting people and working with them.
  
  Seen that you are an established member of this forum and have spent a lot of time communicating and talking to people, by that i assumed that calling names would be out of your league.

I've just started writing guest blog posts for two popular blogs in my niche and I now wish I'd done it a lot sooner. Every time I write one I get several hundred subscribers, not to mention plenty of first-time visitors, many of whom will go on to become repeat visitors.
