Which site would you push?

Hey all,

I am doing some work for my friend that is in real estate. I am helping him to get his site ranked higher on Google. He has 2 sites. Here are the details.

Site 1: 5 Years old standard html site. Ranked 14 on Google. Does not have regular updating content. Main keyword is not in the url.

Site 2: His blog. 1 Year old. Ranked 19 on Google. Main keyword is in the url of his website.

Should I push the site that is already higher on Google or the one that is a blog?

Any input would be great.

Thanks

Brandon

try the blog.. it will be easier.. getting keywords in url are very helpful and search engines find them first.

really difficult to answer your question.

Positions 19 and 14 might be easy or tough depending on the keyword competition.

The fact one is a blog is irrelevant, the fact one has the keyword in the domain is only of minor relevance.

My gut answer would be that the five year old domain will have more authority and therefore be quicker to get up the SERPS with some content and links.

This is the best investment I have seen in ages - For just $1.00 you can get 4 coaching sessions - And the coaching is from internet marketing legend Chris Record.

It has been my experience that a lot of blogs rank faster but have less staying power. I am all about domain age because of the results I have seen so personally I would push the site that is older. The only downside is that you don't have the main keyword in the url which is huge. Truthfully either one could succeed based on the characteristics that both of them have (domain age, keyword in url, etc) so it's really a toss up. That being said, from personal experience, search engines love my older domains best.

Hmmm. I thought this might be a tricky one. I have had a lot of the same things going through my mind.

    Thanks,
