How to Estimate Long Tail Traffic?

I realize this is maybe too dumb of a question to get a solid answer.

But..

Lets say I rank for Cat Food, #1.

Lets also say I get 20,000 visits a day because of that. (I am not sure what Cat Food gets in real life, this is just a random number)

Is there any way to estimate how many long tail terms I will also rank for? Lets imagine that my Cat Food landing page has thousands of LSI terms that would likely be in the long tail searches, so its long-tail friendly.

Are there any long-tail estimation tools out there?

    Here's what you do...

    Go to Google Zeitgeist

Click on "Insights For Search" and enter your keyword.

This will give you a list of the most popular and trending longtail keywords for you search. Then you run a check through your keyword program for daily search numbers.

Should give you all the data you need :-)

You should using Google Keywords Tool to check short or long tail keywords as you want
