to answer your question i use aweber. its an autoresponder. your first three emails are simple, you want to get your list to know, like, and trust you...without that no one will buy! try to keep your emails to three to four paragraphs. 1st msg welcome ..... thanks for signing up and so on...tell em you'll be in touch, 2nd email.....follow up, make sure they got acess..... then 3rd email... start sending them your products. i usually send my autoresponder on a 2 day, 3 day, spread for my squeeze page. and talk to them like you would a friend and if they were standing there. everyone wants real conversation. hope this helps some bud.

Can you expand on your question more? The clearer you are, the more powerful and helpful the answers will be. There are some very smart folks here.

With that said, some general advice I can give is write your emails like you're speaking to your best friend. Like TPW said, you don't want to come out of the gate sellin'.

Build value. Give them some awesome stuff. Train them to open your emails by sending genuine goodies they can use.

Don't think of them as a list of nameless, faceless people. Think of them as the person you care about most.

Definitely DO NOT pitch a product. Passively sell your character. Provide good information...don't be buddy-buddy, but be authoritative & friendly. A dash of laid-back...and a huge dose of "spell-check". Good luck!

Normally I provide good content at the beginning (1st - 7th email), NO selling yet.

After that I'll start promoting (either my own products or affiliate products)

And the sequence is alternate between one good content & one promotion.

Don't just sell, sell, sell. Start out by giving your list some solid, well-researched information; give them a reason to value your expertise and trust you. I'm sure anyone who signs up for an email list expects to get a sales pitch at some point, but, personally, you had better give me some great information to go along with it, or I'm not sticking around.

And, when you do start promoting products, don't offer hype that's over the top (you know, the "with this product, you'll fit into a size 6 by Monday!", or "with this product, you'll be able to quit your job next week!") Be honest and genuine; people respond to that far better than some sleazy sales pitch that's clearly only aimed at making a quick buck. If you genuinely think that XYZ is a good/helpful product, tell me why, without the sensationalism.
