Godaddy Auction Domain is available without auction!

I did a search for an aged domain name thru Register Compass and it gave me the name of a domain that was being auctioned on Godaddy. But, I typed the name in thru the regular registration method on Godaddy and it says that the name is available! I checked and rechecked and checked again. I did not misspell it! I can buy the name straight out thru the regular domain registration with the exact same .com extension or I can take part in the auction that has 45 days left! What gives? the domain is 2 years old with a few backlinks but I am very very confused.

Just register it. tdnam.com (aftermarket) can sometimes have domains listed that were put up for a longer-term auction (45+ days) but the actual expiry is already gone and the domain has actually dropped. Register Compass appears to mention expirED and expirING domains (as well as auctions), but I'm not a member there so not 100% sure how they operate; might be irrelevant.

If you see value in it, and it's available, grab it. Don't question it. I'm pretty involved in "that end" of things, and even I don't understand some of the anomalies that occur sometimes.

(side note: there's possibility when you tried to register the domain, that there was a hiccup in the registry check for availability. This happens sometimes. Double check your domain spelling (I see people get excited and typo what they think was a "winner" ALL the time)) and if it says it's available again, grab it!)

Yeah thats why I cut ans pasted it to be sure I'm getting the name correct. It was listed as an "auction" on Register Compass. They list them as Auction, Expired or Expiring
