Do all versions of the kodak zi8 have mic input?

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm about to buy one online + I need to make sure it's "impossible" to get a "zi8" without the mic input.

Also, what's a good low-mid priced mic (lapel) corded or wireless?

Any advice / suggestions?

I have several and they all have the mic jack....this is a FANTASTIC camera. I have a few 3-ccd cams and a canon hfs 11 and my favorite of all are my zi8's.

Forgot to also ask -- does it have a way to attach it to a standard tripod?

  Yes! It sure does... I was skeptical, but it arrived with the proper attachment hole!
  
  I also think it's a pretty cool little camera. It DOES absolutely *LOVE* lots of light, and really dumps shadows.
  
  Perhaps not the best nighttime camera if you don't have auxiliary lighting.

  I have the kodak. I use a lavalier mike by Audio-Technica, as well as a desktop microphone by Logitech. My tripod is a 58 inch Targus, a cheap tripod, but it will do until I can justify paying big buck for a sturdier one.

Yes, the only variation in the Zi8 models is the colors that they come in. Functionally, they are all identical to each other, and of course that includes the mic input. Regarding your microphone needs, what situation(s) are you planning to record audio in?

It's not impossible, but you only have to worry about the sports version that is waterproof, that one does not have the external mike option. All the normal zi8's have it available.

Edit: I guess it's not technically a zi8, It is a different model. My bad.
