Is Squidoo Any Good For Getting Traffic?

I tried making a page on Squidoo, which had the same title as a page from the BBC News website. It is a unique article, and I had hoped that using a title that someone had written would help me get traffic. However, I've only had one visitor to the page.

I believe the title should be good, and therefore believe that my page is not getting any traffic as its not even getting listed anywhere. Does anyone have any tips on what I else I could do in order to get people reading my pages in the first place?

I don't have enough posts to place a link yet, but my page title is:

As far my experience Squidoo was not that good for receiving considerate amount of traffic. Although there are some who receive lot of traffic through squidoo. But EZA works better for most of the people to get good rankings on Google for their unique niche.

I just created a Squidoo lens teaching everyone how to use Squidoo lenses as a traffic generating method, besides a passive income. I prepared a beginners guide, showing you all the tricks I learned about this matter this summer, and indicating you the Squidoo lenses with the best information and tips:

Have in mind that you have to create many lenses in order to achieve your goals.

    All the best!

Thanks. I had a read through that. Had to get 2/3 through it before I found anything interesting to me, but I did not know the stuff about the discovery tool or My Lenses.

Squidoo will work so long as you follow the basic principles that you would on your own blog or site.

Good keywords, at least 600 words (more if possible), and get some links to your lens.

The more of all 3 the better.

All I will say is they are great for driving traffic but always make sure your money site is hosted on your own domain. Preferably your own server.

Well I am not sure about getting traffic from squidoo itself, but as far as ranking in the search engines squidoo is great. I can usually rank my squidoo lens fairly fast with out much backlinking.

I use pingler to ping my squidoo lens then I also take the rss link and submit it to various rss directories. Then I will start doing some backlinking using my target keyword as the anchor text and variations of it.

It usually does not take long to see first page rankings using these methods, as long as your content is optimized good for your keyword. Make sure your keyword is in the title, in the url and a few more time throughout your lens.

Also make sure to have good call to actions in your lens because the whole point is to get them off your lens and to your site as fast as possible. You have to be careful with most these sites especially squidoo since there site is monetized with adsense, banners and other advertisements.

So it is vital that your content is as compelling as possible and you have a real strong call to action.

      hope this helps

      -Chris

If you are looking for traffic generation then using Squidoo should be part of a larger plan including a number of related Squidoo lenses, hubpages, press releases, article marketing and even free blogs. It is more a combination of things that increase your traffic figures and if you are hoping to get traffic to your lens then you will need to do some article marketing or similar to help drive traffic to it.

    All the best

Squidoo pages rarely get traffic on their own unless they are about an insanely popular topic. More often than not you will have to generate traffic the good old fashioned way through article marketing, video marketing, etc. There are some benefits to using Squidoo to eventually rank in the search engines where the traffic would come on its own but that will still take a bit of work like generating backlinks to it, social bookmarks, etc. Rarely does a site just 'sit in space' and receive traffic without promotion of some kind.

The trick in achieving massive amount of traffic with Squidoo is making good, high quality lenses. The more your lenses rank, the more it gains traffic. But better not rely on Squidoo. There are other options that you may use like EZA, Hubpages and others.

My idea is after setting up a Squidoo lense you may promote that lense through off-site seo tactics.Specially commenting on related niche by leaving the link of that lense is a useful one.Forum marketing is another strategy i would like to recommend to get more visitors to your lense.

Squidoo was very much popular in terms of article marketing..But I think it has lost Google love recently. Not much search results showing from Squidoo nowadays.

I dont use squiddoo myself but I have noticed while doing a research that these pages often come up high in search rankings, for what I would consider high competition phrases
