Recommended Conversion Tracking Software?

I'm not sure I completely trust AdWords when it comes to tracking sales, hence I want to look into an alternative conversion tracking software.

Preferably one that tracks more than just PPC campaigns. I want to know where ALL my sales are coming from. I'm a product vendor and not an affiliate, so with that in mind, what are your recommendations?

Regards,
Matt

    • Hi Andre,
are you using adtrackz yourself? How good is the software? and the customer service?
I purchased it a while ago and did not get the download link for the software until I filed a claim at paypal and they were investigating the matter.
I ask this question because I´m not sure if I want to work with a customer service like that.
How good is the software? Does it need customer service a lot?
      thanks,
      Nirusan

    • Hey Raakesh:

Since you have intimate knowledge with both Affiliate Radar ($97/mnth) and Long Tail Magic ($97 one-time fee), what are the differences between the two?

What appeals the most about LTM is the one-time fee. Right now I am considering using either Prosper202 or Optimize My Site (free to me), but the features offered by AR and LTM seems to provide greater info and ease of use.

      Thanks,
      Ron
  • I use XConversions.

    • I have the agency license and I've used it for my clients for several years.

What is Stuffed Tracker? / Stuffed Tracker

One of my clients was getting so much traffic it started to get slow (MySql DB) for all the others so I moved away from it about a year ago.

I imagine there have been several version upgrades since then so coding may have improved performance even for 1,000,000 + visitors a month.

I may take another look myself.

  • As far as Affiliate Radar is concerned, there is no other product that compares to it, yet. But Affiliate Radar allows you to track conversions for affiliate offers without using any conversion data tracking code on your thank you pages.

Long Tail Magic requires conversion data tracking code.

Affiliate Radar is hosted on our server so it saves you resources, LTM is hosted on your servers, so it uses your server resources.

Affiliate Radar is strictly for affiliate marketers who are getting traffic thru PPC.
Long Tail Magic is for anyone who has a website but Affiliates using direct linking methods might still want to use Affiliate Radar.

I checked the other products you mentioned, I think you need to get a feel of both Affiliate Radar and Long Tail Magic to really understand what they are, and what they can do for your business. Both these products have a money back guarantee ... so I recommend that you try them out.

If you need further clarification about these products, feel free to PM me ...

  • Tracking202 (Hosted) or Prosper202 (self-hosted) are the best out there IMO. Not only are they 100% free, but the support is top notch! They're mainly designed for PPC, but you can track other sources of traffic as well as long as you can use subids.

    • Hello Nirusan

AdTrackz has been around for a while and I use it myself.

I understand your concern on the support issue but I've found the AdTrackz software so simple to install and use that I've never needed any support from Jonah, the developer.

It's a great little package for the money.

      Cheers,

      Neil

These solutions are for affiliate marketers.

  • To all...Do any of these campaign/link trackers show the user's IP Address? I've had some traffic brokers supposedly send "unique" hits and 99% were all from the same IP address but I forget the system/program that I used to track that info.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    • Tracking202 and Prosper202 are both free and capture IPs. LTM and Affiliate Radar also captures IPs.

      Hope this helps,

  • Hey Ron,

I'm gonna try Prosper202. It looks promising and just what I need. I certainly don't mind buying and paying for products so if this works out I'll be a "Donator" :-)

    Thanks for the Info!

  • I found the program I bought a few years ago. It's called ProAnalyzer at Proanalyzer.com but I don't see that it collects IP Addresses. It seems to be a pretty good program though and not expensive at all.

Does anyone else have knowledge of the pros and cons of this program?

    Mike
  • I like OMS (or OptimizeMySite) for conversion tracking. It also have the nice feature of being able to convert your Yahoo/MSN/Google campaign into a Yahoo/MSN/Google campaign very easily.

I must say though that this is the only conv. tracking software I've used, but I'm happy with it.

I heard a lot of great stuff about Prosper202 as well, but haven't tried it myself.

    • Adwords is just one traffic source.

You can have a strong conversion rate from one source and have another that just kills your overall conversion rate. Case in point, one copywriting client of mine saw one affiliate pull a zero percent conversion rate when everyone else was converting at 4 percent during the product launch because they were using untargeted traffic.

So even if your testing software doesn't track traffic sources, I still recommend tracking yourself. It can easily identify affiliates who are trying to send you traffic but are doing something that is sabotaging their efforts.

The next version of Easy Multi Tracking will let you track by traffic source. We're currently in alpha testing of the new version and it will be made available to all current Easy Multi Tracking customers as a free upgrade.

Once the new version is available, I will probably raise the price as I've done so with each new version of EMT before.

      Take care,

      Mike
    • Just wanted to mention this is now available. Just an option to check out.
  • Hmn.. the free solution is Google Analytics, one from microsoft, but you'll probably need to hire a GA consultant or whoever is competent for the job to setup the tracking.
