I am trying to put a Paypal button on my Squidoo lens. Per Squidoo instructions I got the email code from Paypal and am supposed to add more html to make a hyperlink but I am lost. Can you tell me what I am supposed to do? Thanks

    HTML Code:
    <a href="INSERT LINK HERE">INSERT LINK TEXT TO BE SHOWN HERE</a>
    That should do the trick.

    Hi there,

    You want to use a graphic of the button and add the Paypal email code to it as a hyperlink - does that make sense? Or if you can't add a hyperlink then you will need the html code which is
    <a href=”http://yourlink.com”>
    <img src=”http://whereyourpictureisstoredonline/banner.jpg” border=”0”></a>

    I have to be honest - I have not used that in Squidoo before, but hopefully it will help

    Beaten to it, lol

    This is what Paypal gave me:*https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c … WS8RTLC29G

    I have done hyperlinks before with <a href=(an Amazon link) and then ><img src=(the URL of a photo) but this has me baffled. Where you said to put "your link" what do I put?Thanks

    Thank you but I had already read that, but the problem is I don't understand it, and Squidoo said to get the "email code" (not the website code) from Paypal for my lens which is what the above URL that Paypal gave me. What to do with it is the problem.

      The URL PayPal gave you is what goes in the HREF part of the link. If you want your link to say "Click Here" you would put:

      <a href="email code from PayPal">Click Here</a>

        Go in your PayPal account in the "Merchant Services" tab, and then scrol down to "Create Buttons" and pick which one you want to do: you can choose "buy now", "add to cart", etc.

        Go through the steps to create your button and when you are done you'll be given the HTML code for the website.

        Look next to the "Website" tab and click on the "Email" tab: that's the link you need to create your button on the Squidoo page.

        Here is an image to help you visualize it:

        Hope that helps.

    Yes I put on the lens what Paypal sent me and all that happened is just the URL appeared on my lens.

    So then I edited the lens and put <a href="paypal URL"> CLICK HERE </a> and Click Here appeared on the lens, but no Paypal logo at all.

    When I clicked on Click Here I got to Paypal and my Paypal log-in email address appeared in the log-in box. I assume the buyer would eliminate my email address and put in their own and their password to pay me. Is that right?

    Thank you all including the PM I got. This is very frustrating.

    You've got it set up......

    The 'email link' is what paypal gave you - the reason it only says 'click here' and no logo is because you haven't given it the logo. You need to also specify the logo if that's what you want.

    People have already given you the code to type to put it.

    Just change what you put to this:

    <a href=”Paypal URL”>
    <img src=”https://www.paypal.com/en_US/GB/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif” border=”0”>CLICK HERE</a>

    There are 3 components to that:

    1 - The paypal link

    2 - The text you want

    3 - the image you want to use
