    I use article marketing and also backlink using some web 2.0 sites. These are my main 2 methods for building backlinks and driving traffic.

    And of course good SEO on your site will always help with your search engine ranking and traffic.

    i have been a webmaster for 3 years
    tried more than 30s ways to generate traffic for my site
    but the best way is SEO ----- free,permanent and much more

    I think creating back-links are the most important and effective strategy and social bookmarking is also relevant.

    Depends on the niche.

    I have niches where SEO is everything, providing 80% of the traffic.

    I have niches where Articles provide great traffic, and provide the bulk of the traffic.

    I have a niche where 75% of the traffic comes from clicks on YouTube. (Part of this is assumed, 50% come from clicks, the other 25% from direct entered URL's which I suspect are from a video.)

    I have one niche where over half the traffic is coming from Google Images.

    For me its getting page rank from google.You will get lots of traffic when your site is up in the search engines.And of course unique article always make the difference.If you want permanent traffic you must have unique articles in your site.
