Does Clickbank's recent "Acting Smart" System kill your conversion?

Hi Warriors,

Lately, when I purchase products from Clickbank,
the system from Clickbank detects my IP location
and automatically converts the USD price to my
country's currency and scared the **** outta me
for a second when I saw the price.

It doesn't effect me to stop buying though, but that's
only coz I am so used to buying online, plus it only
startled me for a second before I saw it was actually
my currency.

Then again, I still had to manually switch it back
to pay in the original USD, coz I actually have more
USD in my Paypal account, a lot more than my
own currency.

So this "Acting Smart" System is actually such a
hassle for me.

And I also wonder, it might make other people
who are not so used to buying online to frown upon and
may therefore abandon the purchase decision altogether?

Personally, I don't sell my products on Clickbank,
but I wonder if those who are, are you experiencing
an obvious decline in conversion since this "Acting
Smart" System was introduced?

Thanks for reading,

Terry

You'd think it would lower conversion but I haven't experienced any drop.

If somebody could give me an exact date as to when they implemented this currency converter, I could look at my stats and give you a solid answer.

    Regards,
    Matt

      the exact date though.

I believe this is something that can be controlled by the vendor. Not sure what the default is, though.

I don't think the currency system is a problem... but there IS a problem. I've been getting emails/calls from JV's all over the place about product after product promo that's not making sales.

Then in the next breath I get emails from subscribers saying CB won't accept their cards.

It's been going on since they launched this new program... if I were a bett'n man I'd say something in the new code is screwing with the entire ClickBank system.

The problem is off and on every day... I even tried to buy during one of the "blackouts" and couldn't get my info to go through.

Has anyone else noticed this? Some folks have reported over 50% drops in overall daily sales.

A lot of people are noticing this. My affiliate sales have been down almost 50% The first time I noticed it it coincided with the global bank meltdown and it's been worrying me ever since.

The default is to change the currency.

You can contact CB and ask them to switch it off for you. Didn't take long to get confirmation.
