Hi guys every night its the same for me. I go home from an eight hour shift at work a little tired, struggle to write maybe an ezine article or blog posts. then just before I nod off to sleep in boredom I only have like 2 backlinks done....maybe a couple blog comments....that need to get approved...then i find out those blog comments aren't on do follow blogs...to make a long story short....I've had a blog for over a year...and it only has like 69 backlinks...like 80 pages of content. no real traffic. zero page rank. Can someone help me please. I've thought about blasting profile links by paying for some, but some people say they work others say they don't work. I've considered paying for someone to do my links on fiverr but that's also iffy....I don't know what do because doing them by hand I'm not getting anywhere. Here are my two sites...please give me suggestions.....

Oh and I've thought about buying software, but I don't have a huge budget for stuff like book marking demon

Well, if you can't afford or don't want to outsource, and you don't have the time or energy to do it yourself...I'm not sure there's an answer for you.

You asked the same question not long ago. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-backlink.html and had some in depth and very good answers. Bottom line is, boredom or not, you have to do the work or need to pay to outsource backlinking done for you. kay

in that thread people basically said that if I had a better domain name, I wouldn't need so many backlinks...well thats fine if I was starting all over. but I have a weight loss blog so it's a competitive niche. I don't want to just sell it and start all over. I would like to see if it can make some sort of cash...but I know this domain name needs thousands of links.

Ok - well backlinking is BORING and a lot of work so if you have a domain that you know needs lots of backlinks then be prepared for a lot of boring work.

How about you start another domain that would be easier to get ranked and work on that one for the time being? Let your original one age a bit and maybe throw a back link here and there at it. Then once your second one is performing as you want, you might be a little more motivated (and experienced) to get backlinks to it.

...Or, if you want to still just work on your original domain just pick a good keyword and make a page or post for it. Use the proper on page SEO and then throw your backlinks at that page or post. It will rank faster and the effort will also help boost your main page.

Exact match domain names do give you a great boost, but using an exact match domain isn't the only game in town and Search Engines rank pages not sites so you could work on some pages on your main site and leverage your efforts.

IMHO, you should employ a variety of back linking techniques - articles, blog comments, press releases, submitting to doc sites and so on. Depending on how competitive your keywords are, or course.

Blog commenting to get people to your blog can certainly be more relaxing than writing articles.

I've gotten some results from fiverr

Also not to toot my horn but my TweetNSleep program is creating backlinks from my regular ads I'm posting. Twitter may be nofollow but the backlinks I get from there without using short url services is working well.

Hmmm, that's the thing. It's not easy. Especially if you're working full time (I did for a year and a half before going full time in IM), it will often seem like very hard work, because most of site promotion stuff is tedious, time consuming work. That's just the nature of the beast, I'm afraid.

Are you only trying to achieve success with the one site? Maybe look at a different business model that will get you more money with the same amount of effort, like site flipping.

You should definitely outsource using Elance or Odesk etc. if you don't have the time/energy/will to build links, as well as adding more content to your blogs continually. Although you are in a very competitive niche, you can still go for the lower competition keywords with your links. You can also utilise tools such as socialbot and such to minimize the boring tasks.

I have a great idea for you. Instead of creating more and more blog posts and articles, come home and spend all of your time on backlinks. If you can't get traffic to your main page, whats the point in writing content. Once you have traffic, you can continue to add content to your blog and use plugins to include twitter/facebook/reddit style buttons so that your readers can create backlinks for you.
Again, stop creating content that nobody see's, and work on getting your content Seen. Hope this helps.

    Backlinking IS boring!

BUT it is one of the surefire ways to get to #1.

Either you do it yourself or you outsource - the bet way to keep motivated is to record your results so that you can look back and feel rewarded for your efforts.

Don't be discouraged if you don't see instant results - it can take weeks or even months depending on your keywords and their competitiveness!

My Advice TRACK TRACK TRACK!!!! You'll soon see the end of the tunnel and it'll drive you stronger to get out of the 8 hour grind!

Kea, I took a quick look at the home pages for the two sites you listed.

One thing that stood out to me was the fact that most of the posts on the front page were older posts bumped by the blog post promoter plugin. If you're getting spidered at all regularly, you may have archives filled with duplicate posts.

The content is okay, but not remarkable. Plenty of typos to go around. I don't think that's your real problem, though.

I recently rediscovered an interview Paul Myers did with Audri Lanford about ten years ago. One of the points Paul made was that many people struggle because they focus on the "how", rather than the "what".

In your case, the 'how' is building backlinks to your site. I'm guessing that the 'what' is getting people to come to your blog, read your content, click your affiliate links, and buy something. The first part of that is getting people to come to your blog.

Organic traffic from SEO is fine when it comes. Take a step back, and start making a list. How else can you entice people to read your blog?

Your sig bills you as a professional article writer. How can you use that skill to draw people to your blog? What can you create that will make other blog owners with audiences want to link to and/or recommend your blog?

Maybe you need to take a day or a week off and just noodle on how you can get what you really want, rather than continue slogging through something that saps your energy like that.

The cold truth is, parts of this business are boring. You either suck it up and find ways to get through them, you hire someone to do the worst parts, or you do something else.

Spy on your competition, do what they are doing and add a twist find some automation tools to help you. Backlinking doesn't have to be done the hard way, i've only recently found this out.

Either submit a press release that can get you hundreds of backlinks over the course of a couple weeks, or go to Fiverr and pay $5 to have someone do it for you. Ideally, you want various types of backlinks so it looks more natural to google: directories, articles, videos, forums, social sites, web 2.0, etc.

Be sure your on-page optimization is good to go.

Perhaps what you can do is to check your motivational techniques and find out, on a deeper sense, what causes you to stop there. When you could have been very good in the first place that you've come now this far (looking at your 2 sites), you should be very eager and find time how to achieve your goals for these sites. Another one is to focus on one technique at a time and be an expert. Find good people with similar interest near your place whom you can hang out with while you're doing your tasks. It can be in a coffee shop or a suitable place where you would not mind thinking about the painful efforts for your backlinking. Just have fun and have time to reward yourself for a good job!

All of you got it wrong. The OP is looking for a way to hide from work but the hard truth is that it's work that puts food on the table. It's work that makes you feel good after all.

Hard work pays off at the end of the day if you do it the right way.

One thing you might want to try is checking out a trial for an Article submitter so that you can reuse that 1 blog post or EZA article you wrote and post it to 1000's of directories for backlinks.

I am no fan of backlink building myself so I outsource it and use Article Submitting software called Article Marketing Robot. There is a free trial where you can test this out for around 5 days.

Or you can buy Big Mike's Article Poster which is cheaper and may be appealing if you don't have the resources.

Write guest posts for other blogs. This helps build backlinks AND helps send traffic your way. Yeah, you've got to write something (or pay someone on Fiverr $5 to do it for you), but it does kill two very important birds with one stone.

Find someone selling 1000s of profile links

pick a random site like google.com

Pay them to build all their profiles with links to google.com with a unique profile name that nobody will have used before and won't be on the web.

    like "greg1939nam34"

    wait a month

search google for that username with quotes and pay someone to harvest all the indexed profiles.

Then you will have a list of profile links that index quickly and naturally

Find someone to build those to your site for cheap (on odesk or wherever)

      Thanks for your help
Roxanne, technically there is no such thing as a "do follow" blog. It's a convenient term to describe a blog that is not no-follow.

In a nutshell, the no-follow tag was invented as a way to direct the 'juice' a link sent down stream. For example, say a page had ten links on it. Each link would take 1/10 of the PageRank with it to the next page.

But you may not want all of the links to take that juice with them. One example would be a link to your privacy page - there's no real reason to want it to rank for anything. Another would be to conserve and direct the flow of PR within your own site.

"No-follow" was implemented to make it possible to do this without resorting to an assortment of coding tricks to 'hide' links from the search spiders.

For blog comments, it also serves to discourage link spammers from dropping links, usually via comments, purely for the backlink. Blogs with the no-follow tag are thus referred to as 'no-follow blogs'.

Some bloggers, to encourage comments, will add a do-follow tag even though it has no actual meaning.

Too late to make a long story short, if you are commenting for the links alone, you want the absence of the no-follow tag. On the other hand, posting good comments to no-follow blogs with loyal audiences can generate some direct traffic for you. So don't dismiss no-follow blogs out of hand.

      Helps?
