$200 extra cash for a new project

I am working on launching a new niche site.

I have the design one, logo on the way, list set up, ebook in progress, and content flowing in from a writer daily.

I have $200 left over in my budget.

My goal is to use ezine articles, etc to promote my ebook package that will be for sale.

Also, I I'll be joining ejunkie or click bank to sign up affiliates hopefully (I plan on a nice bonus launch incentive I hope for affs).

If you were in my shoes and had most of the MAIN stuff done, what would you put that money towards?

This is my first product and I am very nervous and can't afford to lose out completely on the investment, so I want to make the best choice.

Any input greatly appreciated!

There are two things I would definitely do with that money. The first is sign up for an autoresponder service and put an opt in on your site. Most of them are fairly cheap. That way if your product doesn't convert as well as you hoped it would you still have a list of people you can market to later. The second thing, as you mentioned, is an aggressive article marketing campaign. You can use that money to outsource the writing and submitting if you so choose, however if you are on a budget you'd be better off just doing it yourself. Keep in mind if you eventually put it on Clickbank or Ejunkie that you will have to pay that cost as well so factor that into your budget.

Irregardless of the amount of money you have in excess, I would say, focus on these three factors instead of worrying about the extra cash on hand.

      1. Content

Are your content properly optimized? Is your sales letter for your eBook convincing enough? Testimonials gathered for your eBook? is there an upsell? downsell? Re-check your content before the big launch.

      2. Traffic

Do you have sufficient traffic sources? Are you fully utilizing your existing sources? PPC? Participating in Niche Forums? Commenting on Relevant High PR blogs? Sending out Press releases on your new product? Ensure you will have a consistent amount of traffic coming over.

      3. Catch & Hold

Do you have a method of keeping visitors to your site? Are you providing enough promotional content to give your affiliates an easier time promoting your eBook? RSS Feed subscription or Email list? Make sure you have a strategy in place to convert your one-time-off visitors into full-time loyal readers.

None of the above requires money, just a bit more effort on your part will do. As for the excess $200, buy me a beer with that will ya?

Meanwhile, all the best for your product launch!

Thanks for that input. I plan on using aweber for my list, and my writer is going to be doing a report to give away for my list for those that I cant sell to on my first attempt. The report will be a cliff note of a section of the ebook.

I was wondering, should I just do a product page on my site first, and use all articles to drive to sales page or to blog (then eventually roll out the blog maybe down the road after I get some decent traffic to sales page) or should I have both from the start?

The ebook will be in the root, and the blog in a subfolder.

      Thanks for input!
