I will Like to ,firstly, thank warrios who have been of help to me....
It is not easy starting from scratch in the internet marketing venture, but it is much easier when you have people advising you.

I am glad to have finally become a family here and I know that with time I will share my testimony...

In my country,Nigeria, the internet marketing is given an uglier look than it seem. It is more like feeding on people's ignorance. Hence, this makes it somewhat difficult for my fellow Nigerian Online Money seeker to make it. Worst still, they give up the chase.

If you dare ask a question in a Nigerian IM forum, like it is done here, they see it as an avenue to rip you off, especially when you know nothing about the internet. Instead of helping people freely as it is commonly done here, they will want to sell, sell, sell,sell... and it does not matter if you are dieing...

Now to the main issue...
I spotted something as I was brain storming a niche
I went to google keyword tool and notice that a keyword( a physical product name) has about 3000+ global search and 1600+ local search

I went to google search engine and did search for the keyword with quotes and noticed that the keyword has 6070 competing searches

I went over to Domain Name Search and found out the .com and the .net domain for the main keyword is registered but I cant find them on google in the domain of the first 10 url when I do a search on the keyword. what should I do here?

I checked Amazon I noticed that they have the product there...

What does all this mean? A gold mine... please comment... thank you all for your time.

    What is the "exact" searches?
That will give you a more accurate overview of the searches.

Global and Local searches is different from "exact" searches.

Do a search for that keyword on Google. Check the first page results as these are your real competition.

Look for tings like number of back links to the websites, what their PR is and also if the back links to their pages are anchor text with your keyword.

Also, look if they have the keyword in their title, description and H1 tags. Actually this should be checked for first.

I know this sounds complicated but it really isn't. I suggest you familiarize yourself a bit with SEO so you can know how to spot a good keyword. It really does save you a bunch of headache.

        Cheers

If we are truly going to help newbies we cant talk over their head and assume that they know the meanings of things like:

          "Pr"
          "Anchor Text"
          "Backlinks"
          "How to check competitions backlinks"
          "SEO"
          "Title"
          'description"
          "H1 tags"

What does all this mean to a newby?

I swear this is why I can sell more websites than the average person because I'm not so presumptuous to talk over their head...

Do you really think because some know these things that you can help a real newby using words like that?

You would have to be a moderate pro just to understand this one post.

Not you personally jan roos, so no offense, but ANYONE....

I am constantly NOT amazed at why newbies struggle so much. Hell they need to buy a whole report just to help them decipher what people are saying.

If I were a newby, and I was... an answer like that might discourage from my whole idea.

Agreed, thats why I said that it might be a good idea to get familiarized with these terms if one is going to go after a specific keyword on the search engines. It will just make things easier.

I noted that. Wasnt toward you personally, sorry it came out on this particular thread. Its just something I've noticed alot. Is there a resource we can point him to that helps with learning all of that, maybe one he can afford? Im not an affiliate marketer so I dont know...

Your post was actually very compassionate... it was just the point of terminology that sometimes alienates others that I was pointing out.

And on the other hand, some of us expect a certain level of knowledge to enter a conversation and the burdon of learning is on the student.

I'm personally tired of every conversation having to be on a noob level and that some of us can NEVER have an expert conversation without having to explain basic IM vocabulary that restricts all threads to a noob level.

I've yet to find a single IM related phrase here not easily defined with a simple Google.

I'm not saying that noobies don't merit help, I try to help them when I can. However, I also think noobs need to respect advanced conversations, realize that not every topic is aimed at them, and that if they don't understand a word/term, to look it up and not interrupt the conversation to ask what "SEO means" and bring down the entire conversation to their level.

I've been a member on this forum for about 13 years. Sometimes, I like to move past the noob stage and not have to take the time to define every term every time I use them.

Not all threads need to be reduced to the lowest common denominator.

I spent a lot of time putting together search tips so any noob can be an expert, if they choose:

It was a noobs thread in the first place, and a noob was asking a noob question. It wasnt a conversation between professionals.

So I dont see them disrespecting an advanced conversation here.

My opinions also "came out on this particular thread", just like your own. And my comments were in response to YOUR's, not the OP's, which is why I quoted you and not the OP.

And in case you didn't notice, I also responded to the OP's interests in my first post, right above the other post of mine you quoted here.

Then you asked for a resource to "point him to", which I also included in my second post, which is a post I spent a lot of time on to help noobs.

It means you theoretically found a good niche.

The next step is to see if it's reality. Don't confuse research with results.

And while you're working on setting this up, start your research again, setting up your next project. Repeat.
