how to "split-test" performance of blog-POST?

hey there,

any ideas how to split-test different blog-posts when they're on the home-page of my blog? (I'm using wp-sticky to put one blog post up on the top)

I know how to do it for pages (as they have their own URL),
but a blog-post that's "stuck" to the top of the home-page, well, it
has the home-page URL.
and when testing, obviously I only want to change the blog-post on the top, and not the entire page (which would happen if I then did a split-test with another PAGE or even the full URL of a POST).

any ideas? (or am I completely missing the boat and there is an obvious solution?)

Veit, since you're using a sticky post to pin it in a repeatable position, you're left with two tasks, alternating the content and measuring the response.

Measuring the response is the easy part - just use different links for your goal.

For a blog post, you might end up using an iframe and an outside rotator script. You plug your testing content into the script, and use the rotator as the source for the iframe.

I'm not sure if there's an easier way to do this, but at least you have an idea to work from now - and a bump...

  fellow warrior Paul Hancox sells a split testing script called "Power Split Tester" for standard html pages. When I tried to split test things on a blog, he figured out a way to use his script for some basic split testing on WP blogs.
  
  I'm not sure if that would work on a sticky post, though. You would need to contact him and ask him if the script and his WP-solution would work for you.
