Not my method - but wanted to share it with you.

Lets say you have a blog post you want to promote.
1 Make a research before, and find two good searched long keywords appropriate to your blog post story.(if you want your traffic to convert)

2 Go to digg and submit your post and in the title put your first long keyword and in the description your other l. keyword

3.Thats it.No need to share your story with friends (even this is better for long term and to reciev traffic from digg to).

Afther one hour search you keyword and you should see it in the first page of google (if it's a competitiv long keyword probably on second page, or third)

You should see in your g analytics traffic from digg but basicly is from google

    Not really anything new but why stop there why not do the same thing at many of the other social sites. I have actually just built a new site which was on a brand new domain. It has been only been up for about 35 hours now and I already have 8 pages indexed. However I have not yet begun to promote the site. For I still need to build a few hundred more pages first. Once I have the other parts of the site done then it will be promotions time. That is one of the things I will be doing however I will be doing so a very very different way and a way that is that much more powerful.

    Have tried to do something similar a few times in the past but without any real converting success, received minimal traffic from my article / post & I think the key ingredient here is absolutely within the Keyword Research.

    I do think that was my underlying problem, bad choice of keywords.
    If you get step one nailed down, should not have to much of a hassle seeing some nice traffic flow.

    Yup, that is a pretty effective method. If you use OnlyWire to submit your post to all of the social bookmarking sites, it ranks even faster and is harder to knock out of position. That's just what I've found anyways...

    Personally I have never had much success with digg, but I did see huge traffic spikes doing pretty much what you said -- only with reditt and stumble upon.

    But it only lasts a day or two, then it fades alway... Still, very nice -- specially if you set up a squeeze page to capture prospect's email address.

      I know very little about rss and have a question

      I know how to get it (subscribe to one) but how do I advertise one that could bring me traffic. I just made a blog at blogger and want to get some traffic.

      Is it the same? Is there something I am missing?

      What is a good rss aggrigator site to do this? Google Reader?

      Please help and thank you for comments

        Register your feed with Google's Feedburner service to get your feed URL. You can advertise for people to join your feed if you like, but remember that your email list trumps RSS feeds, so your main focus should be on list building.

        A good RSS Aggregator is desktop software called FeedDemon. Download and install it onto your computer. It is free and only has an advert in the bottom left hand corner.

        You can use it to subscribe to your favourite blogs and browse it every so often to see interesting posts.

        If you're really smart, you'll use it to subscribe to lots of dofollow blogs, then post your insightful value added comments on those blogs to help you gain reputation and build backlinks.

    Digg allows for your posts to be published automatically now from your RSS feed. Check out SocialAdr too, you can have other people post your articles on social sites.

    Even better if you can get to the frontpage you'd be looking at anywhere from 1k to 50k+ views and possibly a top spot on Google search results for the keywords you want. Digg is great for SEO even now after the switch to V4.

    I use shorten 2 ping it's a free WP plugin that automatically post to all social bookmarking accounts in your ping.fm account

    Why manually post to digg when you can do it automatically along with 20 something other sites?

    hi.. This method works better before digg changes to the new version but now its searching for few things to deliver more traffic as I seen..

    How many diggs got in 1hour,
    how long a visitor stays in the page
    and also main thing is the uniqueness of the post,,

    but now also the above method works but we dont get more traffic as previous...
