Google Maps / Geo Mapping Question
I am working with KML files and geo-sitemaps for the first time as I test this on one of my clients sites. I was able to save the geo-sitemap in notepad as a .xml file which is not the problem.
It's with the KML file. When I try to save it in notepad as a .kml file, it still saves it as a .txt file. Example: location.kml.txt.
My question is this: Is this the right format for the KML file? Is it ok to have the .txt extension after the .kml? Is the file ready to be added to the site like that or is there something else that I need to do (i.e. get a program that will allow me to save it as a straight .kml file).
