Should I be Wary of Clickbank?

My niche site is coming along nicely (now that I've gotten the kick in the rear I needed to get out of the starting gate), and I was thinking of promoting a couple of related Clickbank products there. Lately, though, I've been reading things about Clickbank and cookie stuffing and puzzling statistics that have me feeling apprehensive.

Should I go with being a direct affiliate for companies who offer products and services related to my niche, or is going through Clickbank still considered relatively safe? I'd like to hear some opinions.

I guess it depends. How well do you handle headaches?

Clickbank is a funny old thing - as much as I've complained about it over the past few weeks, I still have one product out of 20+ that converts at about 1 in 6 (the rest have dropped by about 50%). To be honest I wouldn't really advise anyone to start off with Clickbank right now, although I'm pretty sure things will be sorted out in the near future.

Thanks, Hamida...this is the feeling I'm getting from reading the posts lately.

        Am I missing something?
I have been selling a product that used to bring in a consistent sale of 1 or 2 sales/ day and all of a sudden for the last 1 week, there hasnt been any, although the traffic to the sales page has been consistent? Could there be something fishy now that your guys are talking about it?

Call me crazy, but I'd rather avoid them!

I use a mixture of direct affiliate, clickbank, and paydotcom.

I like the feeling of getting checks in the mail and also the feeling of having my paypal account balance growing all at the same time.

you shouldnt just limit yourself to one affiliate directory, because if anything happens to that site you are at their mercy.

It is also good to have some of your own products on deck.

Agree with nicholas. Have a variety and not only one source of income. Clickbank, Paydotcom, Amazon, Ebay, CJ and even direct affiliates.

Tracy sign up and test CB for yourself. If there is a problem I'm sure they will fix it soon.
