How do you do it?

This forum is great, but there is so much info, that I feel if I start reading I will never stop, so I try not to... Just small "bite-sized chunks" at a time.

      My BEST advice is to tell you this.

      I've been marketing for just over 2 years now and i still haven't learnt 10% of the stuff out there. Worse still the new information overload is growing each and every day.

      Accept that - and go ahead and take action every day.

      When starting out I spend 80% of my time learning with 20% on action. I now spend the opposite: 20% on learning and 80% of my time action.

      Focus on just doing a few small things each day that will bring you closer to your goals.

      IM can be a struggle and commitment and consistency is what will have you getting YOUR goals..

      Many people on here make 6 figures+ many in 12 months or less - WHILE there are many, many others that unfortunately never get anywhere.

      These are the ones who don't take action - I CAN'T STRESS this enough!!!

      Goodluck - you're on a great start coming to this forum - heaps of very helpful people around.

    I think it's almost inevitable when you're presented with a resource as big as this. For a start, just take a step back and realise you don't have to know everything at once.

    People on this forum all want to make money online, but there are so many different ways to go about it. Some people are experts at writing, others are experts on launching products, others are super affiliates and so on.

    When I realised I didn't have to know everything at once to be able to get started, that helped. And I found out that some methods are better suited to me.

    Do you have any specific skills or interests? Thinking about them would be a good place to start to find out a short term plan of action. Once you actually get started, believe me that you'll learn so much through experience. Your path will inevitably change along the way, you'll find out new things, but you can still get started today even if it's with the smallest step.

    Sometimes it's still impossible to get rid of that overwhelmed feeling. In that case, take a break from the forum and internet marketing

    I'd say one surefire way of getting rid of that feeling of being overwhelmed is to take action, but only do it in one area at a time! For example, if you've read and learned about different IM techniques (such as site flipping, domain flipping and SEO), try to only focus on one thing at a time. Give yourself at least 2-3 weeks to focus on it before moving on to something else.

    You do not want to get distracted and be pulled in too many directions at one time, because that is a recipe for disaster!

    Well, I am going to need some money to research a particular market, for a domain and hosting, then money to pay someone to create and infoproduct for me and so on...
    Then money for adwords and yahoo

    Or there is a way...?

    Choose a niche and stay on it until you succeed. Don't be a jack of all trades. However, know when to leave what is not working and move to something that is working. Test, test and test but don't get yourself overloaded.

    Learn and implement one thing at a time.

    Check yourself and discover your skills. And start marketing it or them as the case may be.

      Hi

      I would whole heartedly agree with the general consensus here. The key is to focus on one thing at a time. The stress comes when you try to know everything about everything!

      Choose your initial strategy (I'm promoting one that I like, see below, but there are many more out there that can and do work if you work them). Focus on that, and then gradually learn other stuff as you need it.

      Similarly to an earlier post, I tend to to try to use the 80-20 rule. Give one strategy 80% of my time and effort, while allocate 20% of my time learning new bits that can either complement ot take over my main focus.

      One final point, it is very easy to get "the grass is greener" syndrome, where the strategy you are not pursuing always looks easier and more profitable than yours. 99.9% of the time this will not turn out to be the case, so make sure you give a strategy a good length of time before you abandon it for something else.

      That's the way I see things anyhow, but what ever you do, I wish you all the success in the world.
