How to offer maximum value from an article writing service?

Hello,

I'm planning to bankroll my Warrior Forum membership and other Internet Marketing expenses by offering an article writing service to Warrior Forum members, which I will officially announce in a few days.

My question to you is, what would you like to see from a new article writing service? What incentive would you find suitable to allow me to earn your business?

I'm planning on giving away one free "test" article to a few of my first customers. Can you think of anything else that would persuade you to try a newbie's service and help him get started?

Thanks for reading.

Number 1 - Do not under price yourself so you are unable to do proper research and create high quality content.

Number 2 - Do not overbook yourself and get into delivery trouble.

Number 3 - Ask questions of your clients and find out what they really want, do not guess. You might even ask if they have an example of an article style they prefer.

Number 4 - Use common sense, it is severely lacking in many writers.

Number 5 - Read the guidelines for EzineArticles and use it as a basis for creating articles. A large percentage of your clients will likely be submitting to article directories.

Number 6 - Ask what format they would like to receive their articles in. If they want formatted articles you may need to send in Microsoft Word format, most will take simple text documents.

How is that for a starter?

What Barry said, with one additional caveat:

Make sure you offer some kind of rewrites. Nothing screams scammer like a writer who's unwilling to revise work to the client's specifications.

Almost every "service" I have ever used for this kind of stuff starts out very good and then steadily delivery times and quality decline.

If you are going to do this PLEASE do not overbook...This is great advice!

I don't know about other people, but when I buy articles I am looking for quality pretty much above all else. I'm willing to pay more and wait longer just to get the same high quality I would produce if I wrote the article myself. I hate having to go through and correct grammar or almost completely re-write the article that I got from a writer I hired. When I see cheap articles offered, I am immediately suspicious of the quality because....well...they're cheap. I made that mistake before, and realized that I was being penny wise and pound foolish.

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch! I think a lot of article buyers know this so I'd suggest that you pick a price point that communicates QUALITY.

For more value offer submission to XX directories too. You could also include things like spinning, anchor text rotation, link rotation etc.

What kind of X-Rated directories are you suggesting?

Are we still allowed to post services for article submissions and all those linking stuff?

              Hello All,

Thanks again for the feedback. So the biggest concerns are overbooking and too low of a price point.

Regarding both, I'm still analyzing my competition here on the Warrior Forum, but I'm aiming at around $4 per article (depending on word count).

I'd like to start somewhere between ten to fifteen articles per day. Keeping my workload at this low level will allow me to offer a quality product, but also generate an online income that I'll be happy with for now.

Also, it seems reasonable to assume that when I offer a quality product, keeping myself busy with at least ten articles ordered per day will be the least of my problems.

It would be very valuable to get an article in both plain text and in spin syntax

Evan, what you can do is to offer spinning. I think it would be something very useful for IMers wanting to build backlinks.
