It is very effective method to get traffic to your website. It will give you a backlink also, but there are some problems...

    1) Your signature text didn't get hyperlinked till you reach certain level (Perhapes II). So, your signature will not be clickable immediately.

    2) You gets traffic but you can not say that this traffic is a quality traffic.

    Hey!

For me, Yahoo answers was pretty effective. The reason was because I approached it NOT as an immediate way to promote my product but rather a way for me to provide valuable tips that would help me build credibility and trust with my readers.

The way you actually do this is by first posting at least 10 answers to questions (WITHOUT a link to your site) that you have knowledge of or can find the answer to somewhere online.

Then after you've gained some credibility and trust, you start adding more value through your answers, but this time with a link to your website as a way for them to get more help and additional "valuable" information for their problem.

And most importantly, you should strive to become a "Top Contributor" as people with this status are well respected and readers will value what these people have to say, which often means more traffic to the links they post.

    Hope this helps.

I love using Yahoo answers. Once you answer some questions and start getting voted as best answer and are respected in the community you can put links and really get some good traffic.

Just make sure to never ever put generic answers or spam. Always answer with a good, helpful answer and then put a link in the resources box.

You just have to be careful but if you do it right you can get some great traffic from it.

Everyone says yahoo answers is good but in truth its not great, you need to get to rank 2 before you can post links and some times you can get banned for no reason.

Medicore at best. I'm level 3 and the links are of course NoFollow. Spend your efforts elsewhere, you're better off (if traffic is your goal).

For a while I was very active on Yahoo Answers.

    A few quick pointers:

    1. Always give GREAT answers.
    2. Maybe one out of every five can include a link to your resources.
    3. Link to other places of quality. I have linked to the Warrior Forum when answering about Internet Marketing.
    4. Put a photo on your profile.
    5. Vote on questions you haven't answered if you like the answer.

Taking just 10 minutes a day can create some valuable backlinks, and also expand your world online.

One more, this is a GOLD MINE. Create an RSS feed of the kinds of questions you are looking to answer, and feed it into your RSS reader. Makes it much easier to find cool questions to answer.

    Have a great day!
