301 vs 302 for franchise redirect ?
I'm taking over management of a franchise page that is located at yucky.some.thing.com domain.
The franchise has instructions so that we can have it be ourprettydomain.com instead, and involves changing a CNAME and forwarding to the domain.
My question is this: the instructions say to give a 302 redirect (temporary) to forward to the domain. Is this right? I would think a 301 permanent would be the right thing....
Thoughts?
