Confusion regarding Amazon Affiliate Commission

Ok i justed started promoting Amazon products and in my "referral rate " is 4 % and below it ,it says that promote 7 more products to increase it to 6 %.

But looking at the commission structure table it makes me get confused Amazon.com Help: Fees and Pricing

According to this table if i sell stuff from home and supplies items i should be getting 155 of commission of the products then why do i have "referral rate " as 4 % in my account ??

Or is it that i will get 15 % commission only after i reach a certain number of sales ? and this is the max commission rate that they will be giving their affiliate

I am so literally confused by amazon associates please help me

Thank you all

Commissions start at 4% of purchase price...

As you sell more products (units per month), then your commission percentage increases...

Each month begins again at 4%...

I think what you are looking at is the percentage that Amazon keeps when people sell their products through Amazon. Not the percentage we get when we promote things as affiliates (associates).

    Check the Associates Compensation Overview.

Unless you plan to stay strictly within product categories that are capped for either gross commission or commission percentage, there is no reason to even consider using anything but the performance-based structure. At least none I can come up with at the moment.

Yeah.. the OP is looking at the wrong table...

By the way, just in case you are not aware.. Amazon has 24 hours tracking cookies, but if the prospect adds item to his/her cart within the first 24 hour period, and make the full purchase within the next 90 days and you will still receive commission for those items.
