Twitter - Does Anybody Actually Make Money Using It?

Just a general observation but it seems to me that there are hundreds of "make zillions using twitter" ebooks, courses etc. out there but does anybody actually make money on twitter?

Whenever I look on my account I find I have hundered of people sending me more or less the same offers - all of which I delete or ignore, which I´m sure is most peoples´ reaction.

So I just wondered if people actually made money on twitter or if they just make money selling ebooks etc. on how to make money on twitter.

You will need to have a couple of accounts as well as many followers to really start seeing the traffic.

I dont use twitter for internet marketing yet. basically Im new to this and getting followers can be a big pain. However it wont hurt to give effort in spending time to look for the "right" people to follow you. They say get the targeted followers, people who will be interested in your site's niche. Then conversions/sales/click through will follow.

Twitter is not meant to make money with, what you use Twitter for is to socialize and get your name out there with.

Sure, it's fine to tweet a link about your website or product every now and then. But don't go overboard with it.

I mean seriouslly, it's not hard to use it for those that choose to use it.

I am working on an ebook.....TWEET!

I am going to the store right now for a dr. pepper..... TWEET!

    @whoever, message @whenever, he might know!.....TWEET!

People will get a higher reaction out of their followers if they act like a human instead of a computer marketing program.. Seriouslly...

I think done correctly twitter marketing can yield some decent returns. Just find someone who is a "guru" in your niche and follow all the people who are following them. Then when you tweet something more people are interested and might be inclined to see what's going one.

This would be great to build a list fast.

I think as a form of "traffic generation," Twitter is almost useless. However, as a networking tool I've found it amazingly valuable. I've ended up on a few TV interviews as a direct result of engagement through Twitter.

I haven't used Twitter in a while now but I did used to get traffic to my blog (I'd post a link to any new blog post I'd written). That way I wasn't directly selling anything (but then I don't know how many sales I could attribute to traffic coming from Twitter - it might well have been none).

I'm going to start using Twitter again but will try sending traffic to a squeeze page and see how that goes.

Twitter as a micro blogging service created a revolution in the world of social network, & people started to explore the way to use twitter not just keeping up with friends but to do things like marketing products, making sales, earning money through twitter & lots of other stuff as well.

These are some good ways to earn money using Twitter, but I suggest you don’t over do it as you would look like a spammer & no one likes to get spam not even on their Twitter Timeline. So use this method smartly.

    - Affiliate Advertisement
If you are connected with many affiliates to sell their product and services, you can use Twitter account to tweet your affiliate links to your followers & get paid for the selling product. Be cautious using this method, see that you are not breaking the terms of service agreement.

    - Increasing Traffic
This is indirect method of monetizing Twitter. Many people use this method effectively to send huge amount of traffic to their website which in turn generates revenue from the ads you post on your website.

    - Look For Leads
Many Marketing executive have been using Twitter to find potential leads for the company. Twitter Advance Search offers some best method to find people who are looking for services & products. This is an indirect method but still you can try it.

    - SIMPLEST METHOD is Get Paid To Tweet
This is one of the easiest way of making money on Twitter. You Don’t need to have a website, product or services to earn money, It’s one of the direct way of earning money through Twitter. There are various sites that offers services where you can get paid-per-tweet.

If interested follow this method to earn maximum

    1. Create 10 Twitter accounts
    2. Ensure that each account has a photo
    3. Twitter does not require a valid email to create accounts. Thus you can create 10 accounts in 30 minutes.

4.Sign-up for Pay Per click Programs like:
    - Sponsored Tweets
    - Rev twt
    - Twitt Ad
    - My Likes
    - Be A Magpie

    After signing up,

    5. Add followers using a software bot.
    6. Wait 24 hours then clear all the tweets who are not following you back
This ensures that you can add 500 people again without being blocked or flagged.
    7. Remember to follow new people every day to increase your followers
    8. Bulk remove Tweeters who are not following you back
    9. Post realistic updates to your accounts each day

Believe me, Stick with it! At first you'll only see a $1 a day then $5 then $10 $20 etc

    - Sell Your Product & Services
Selling your product & services through twitter is an also effective way of making money on twitter. You can use Twitter Advance Search option to find out people that are looking for product or services that you are offering & you can directly get in contact with them offering your services.

        All great comments above.

Twitter seems to work best in the IM niche for Traffic and Content Syndication.

However, in other niches, where you have an attractive CPA offer, you can do quite well.

For example, email submits and free trial offers work great.

The targeting comes from where you get your followers on the front end, and it's not exact by any means.

To be honest, it would take a grand scale to generate grand income exclusively from Twitter, in my opinion.

But settling for a little extra cash is nice too.

        Best wishes.

The main thing about Twitter is don't send them to a squeeze page. It starts out as a "Network Tool" but you can use it as a Marketing Tool. The best way to use it is send them to a FREE report and let them download the report without the opt-in.

So, in the report you can conveniently leave a path to your web site.(Hint)

Just blasting out affiliate links is ineffective. You may get some traffic but the conversions will be low.

The same as if you went out onto your high street and shouted out your Tweet. How many would run up to you, dollars in hand?

There is a marketing method that I use with some success where you only need a Twitter account - even without a single follower. The key is to market to those who want something and are ready to buy.

Twitter is best used as a support for other traffic generation options. If you are ever going to get some traffic from twitter, i suggest you network a bit and make yourself known to your followers before posting any links to your website.

Yes, you can make money using Twitter.

The thing is that word got out that you can make money on Twitter and scores of half-wit marketers went on there and started spamming and tweeting links non-stop and then scratched their heads wondering why the money wasn't pouring in.

So, if those people are now seeing that Twitter isn't the latest get-rich-overnight scheme for them and are abandoning Twitter, good riddance.

          Exactly.

Here is a novel concept to consider.

If you want to make money on Twitter, then start building and nurturing relationships with those people most likely to buy from you.

The real money to be made in social media has always been in the relationship, and most marketers try to treat it as a mass marketing platform, then wonder why it all went wrong.

A while back... almost 2 years ago... I decided to check
Twitter out because I'd seen a number of high profile marketers
using it. My strategy was to follow them and observe what they
    were doing.

I didn't learn much but I did have a chance encounter with a
guy who followed me. He asked a question about tools for
promoting small businesses. I responded and sent him some
info on the best tool I've ever seen.

Cut to the chase... the guy joined my business and I've
earned thousands of dollars from his production since that
    chance encounter.

Right place, right time, I guess... LOL

The best way to marketing on twitter is to get evolved in the conversation.

Search for topic you know something about and start sharing valuable information and answering questions. I would recommend keeping commerical links to about 1 in 10 tweets.

The more helpful you are and the more knowledgeable you seem, the better time you will have getting traffic to your site.

Also keep in mind that people do not have to follow you to see your tweet. Every word in your tweet is searchable, so make sure to get as many of your keywords in it as possible.

I recommend using Twiangulate: analyzing the connections between friends and followers
to search for people by keyword they tweet about and start following ones on the same topic you want to talk about. This will help get you in the coversation and expand your influence to their followers.

Try using Twitter as a backdoor method to building your list. Set-up an automated DM, and funnel people to your squeeze page or fanpage. You can even rotate your DMs to go other places of your choosing.

Also, twitter is great for networking with like-minded people, but you have to semi-automate the process to keep from burning up your day.

Twitter works, but you need to be creative. Hope this helps...

Twitter can be a useful "marketing medium" if used in correct ways. Did you see for example the NameCheap competition that pays out some cool prizes, but also gave them some expanded publicity?

Tweeting is used for updates, chatting, promotion, information, linking, list building, relationship building and more.

It is like many other means on the web.

Email marketing can be very effective, or it can blow up in your face if you abuse it. So include twitter in your list building, marketing and money making, but use it wisely.

I use Twitter as a testing bed for certain niches before I fully get involved with it. Because if people are socializing about a certain problem dealing with my niche then that means there's current traffic to be had "right now" in the niche. So I will test a product, normally a CB product, and direct traffic straight to the CB page.

But this is done by answering the persons question in a way that looks like I'm helping or offering advice. This is a process so it would be a mini article to explain all the parts but you can get the basic idea.

Not to be contrary, but does it just "look like you are offering value" or are you "actually offering value"?

main revenue way is to use tweets to drive people to an article where you host ads: adsense, clickbank, cpa..... whatever....
best though to think of it as an email management alternative but only when you know how to target niches properly.
