How do you find high traffic blogs in your niche?

Im trying to work out how do you find high traffic blogs in your niche?

I goto google type in a root keyword. One of my niches is golden retrievers, then on the left click "more" and select 'blogs'. While of course it then brings up blogs related, how do I Know if it actually has people going to it??

I am wanting to do some blog commenting to get traffic back to my site, not so much for backlinks.

So how do you find high traffic blogs in a non internet marketing niche that would be good to comment on??

    I think you would have to be looking at the activity of the blog itself, as in how often new posts are released and produced for the reading audience & followers, maybe have a look at the activity regarding comments on the posts on particular blogs within your niche. Site Rank, PR etc maybe good possibly other indicators of a nice traffic flowing website.

    Try a google search such as:

    "Comments on:" golden retriever
    "Comments on:" labrador
    etc, etc

    These bring up lots of results for pages related to your niche with a comments box on most.

    Try blog directories rather than search engines.. you can check the amount of traffic how much a site has by using other tools after that.
