Eliminating Wordpress spam bots
I created a site about a year ago, but didn't start doing much with it until about 6 months ago.
Suddenly I got this huge jump in spam bots posting comments. I have it set so that all comments have to be moderated so the site doesn't get any crap. Akismet caught them, but I still had to review them and clean them up and they were up to 60 a day and climbing.
UNTIL, I added the SI-CAPTCHA plugin. I haven't had one spam comment since and it's been 4 days. What a treat!
SO, if you are having a similar problem, make sure you moderate all comments, have Akismet, and add the SI-CAPTCHA plugin.
