Do Yahoo and MSN Groups Actually Work?

I am on countless Yahoo and MSN groups for home business, network marketing, direct selling etc all of which I use as safe list and have for years. However, its gotten to the point where advertising in these groups is like advertising in a fish bowl they are entirely too saturated. Everyone seems to be advertising similar or the exact same opportunities, the exact same or similar products and services and so on and so forth. Just to sum this up is anyone actually using these groups and getting results if so how are you going about it?
In my experience people sign up for free stuff and then never buy anything, if they join as affiliates they’ll sign up and that’s the last you’ll ever hear from them.

Safe lists may be safe, but seldom effective...

That is not to say that there are not any good advertising opportunities in Yahoo or MSN Groups...

Consider your fish bowl story... All those people are signing up to each others programs, so most folks on those list belong to all the same Income Opp Programs, so they will continue to mimic each other in their advertising...

Groups like that are good when you are the first one on an opp, but not much after that...

You have to step outside those channels to find anything more than a few affiliates...

Funny thing is that you likely don't need affiliates, but rather buyers...

So you must go outside the fish bowl to find buyers...

And yes, once people sign up as an affiliate, you will seldom hear from them again, unless you make it a point to build a relationship that survives past the three days that they promote the affiliate program they signed up to use...
