What is Going on with Google Places?
Hey Warriors,
I do some offline work and spend quite a bit of time optimizing google places listing...In the past couple of days I have noticed Google has changed the layout for their maps listings..
It used to have a box with the map on the left and all 1-7 listings on the right with the organic search results bellow
Now they have the map in the right sidebar above the sponsored links ...and all the listings are where the organic searches used to be only they are bigger ...and then the smaller "organic listings" are bellow all this.
I have even seen some that will have 1 - 3 maps listings ..then 1-3 organic ..then more maps listings followed by more organic listings.
My initial impression is i dont like it at all....I am wondering what the consequences of organic listings being pushed down the page so far could be.
As well im concerned about sponcered ad conceqiences as the map in the sidebar seems to scroll with the page on some searches completely covering the sponsored ads..
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and what are your thoughts?
UPDATE: Apparently this is only happening in firefox and not IE
UPDATE: # 2 OK this is weird apparently its only doing this on my pc in firefox ...ie works fine...and both work fine on my laptop ...
