Wordpress theme question

Hi all,

I am looking for a Wordpress theme that will allow me to assign specific sections to autoblogging while leaving others out for original content. AN example might explain it better:

Three column theme, A B C, I would use A for my own content ( a local sport), B for content coming from rss feeds (newspapers and other websites content about ongoing, upcoming tournaments or other events) and C for ads and so on.

Do you know of a good working WP theme that will allow me to operate this way?

Ideally, rather than full columns I'd prefer to design specific sections of the front page but anything will do to begin with.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, what you are asking can be done. Can you find a free theme to accomplish it, i dunno. What you're looking for isn't exactly a common feature or something that most WP wannabe designers can pull off.

What I worry about is not having the technical skill to put into artisteer the requirement i have about this. I don´t mind paying for a theme that does what i want but WF has become my "google" when it comes to searching for product recommendations, for obvious reasons so i thought i´d give it a try here first.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you are looking for a theme with the main column on the left with two right sidebars for RSS feeds and adverts.

Atahualpa will allow you to do this.

Clear Line might give you what you want. It's super customizable. You can get it on wordpress.org

There are a couple other themes there that look like they'd do what you want. You definitely want a widget-ready theme for that.

You also might try Socrates. I was impressed with what it did when it first came out. Don't remember if it will do what you want, but you can try it out for 30 days for free.

I also seem to recall one called WP Affiliate or something like that, so you might want to check that one out.

Payment is not a problem if it can do the specific things i want to do. Taking it further i would want to assign specific boxes to specific rss providers, kind of look like a huffington post frontpage in which i could take one box and assign it to rss feeds from the locl government with local legue results, another box with feeds from the biggest national magazine/website on the subject and so on. A one stop shop for viewers to get the headlines from other related publications yet still hang in there for the content I create.

I will start checking out the proposed themes at once. I have paid for a service that will do most of this for me but I want to get the theme part just right.

Thanks all for your replies and any others will be welcome.

I think the answer lies not in the theme but in the autoblog tool you are using-
most add content as posts- you need one that will add content to a widget and then place that widget where you want it
I've not done it myself but imagine that would suite your purpose

Or a theme that integrates that customizing functionality. At this stage having a theme that integrates a number of things currently done by a number of plugins would make me a very happy man. Im kind of uneasy having like 15-20 plugins on top of my theme. Too many variables that can send my site crashing ( and i need a few more...)
