I'm confused about something you guys wrote before:

I'm now getting about 650 visitors and 2,500 page views/day. So in a month that's about 75,000 page views which isn't bad for a small medium blog.

Anyway, someone had mentioned that the standard rate is $1 CPM. So does that mean that I would get $75/month from a standard CPM rate.

I want to start searching for advertisers but want to make sure I understand how things generally work before I do.

Thanks for any help....

With 75,000 page views a month, that would equal $75 if you had a banner ad paying $1 CPM. If you had three banners paying that much on your pages, that would mean $225 a month for you. The more likely scenario is $0.50 CPM, but you could probably get three of those banners on board and make $112.50 a month.

This is just an estimate, of course. I have no idea what you site content is about and what type of ad network you will be joining. Personally, I wouldn't go the CPM route with that little of traffic. just a couple of CPA sales with the right company could net you more.

How much control do you have with the CPM networks? Could you give me a few examples? (I really don't want ads about "teeth whitening"!)

By CPA you mean affiliate links. I've got those but have found those to be very unprofitable. I do much better selling an ebook on my site. Or were you talking about something else?

One question about "banner". I have space on the top, and space for long side bars on the side. Can a side bar ad be considered a banner and command the same rates you mentioned above?

      Sorry to be so ignorant...
