Single Opt-In

I have several double optin lists with aweber and want a single opt-in list for a new site. I thought IContact offered this but in setting up my first list with them it does not look possible. Did they stop offering single opt-in?

    I don't know about IContact, but I have both confirmed and single opt-in lists with Aweber. Don't take my question the wrong way, but are you just assuming that you can't, or do you actually know that you can't use single opt-in there?

      Hi Alexa -

      Interestingly enough, I just checked my Aweber acct. It is several years old and I do NOT have both confirmed and single opt-in lists.

      I checked one of my client's Aweber accts. It is a new one and it DOES have both confirmed and single opt-in lists.

        When you create a new aweber account and set-up your first list, you need to select single opt-in if you ever want to use it in the future. If you use the default (double) for your first list, your whole account will be double-only for the life of it. Unless you contact their customer support and ask them to also enable single. Seriously.

          If you use the default (double) for your first list, your whole account will be double-only for the life of it.
          Not in my experience.

          You should be able to set up either single or confirmed (double) opt in for every list that you set up. This is at the list level. If however, you have received spam complaints due to your use of the single opt in option, at the list level, then Aweber may restrict you at the account level, to only be able to use confirmed (double) opt in at the list level.

          I hope that makes sense.

    Tink is correct.
    There are 2 types of Aweber accounts. Newer ones allow you to choose at list level. Older ones don't.

    To the OP: Your best bet is to ask them and/or change your
    subject line, it probably wont get any really helpful answers.

    Might want to change it to: "iContact single opt-in? Possible?"
    or something.
