What IS (or WAS) Your BIGGEST Fustration Making Money From Home?

The baby was mine, so hard to focus on work when you wanna see your kid and he's so close.

Yeah I agree Amazon is not very lucrative unless your selling plasma t.v's or Bowflexes

Digital products is where it is at.

For me at the beginning it was a lot more work than I though to get past my learning curve but I stuck with it and know I am reaping the fruits of all my labor.

Stick with it newbies. It will all pay off one day. Just keep learning, and working on your online business. Success will come.

Learning the different elements was tough, but what's really been toughest for me was learning how to work for myself and how to be my own boss. I am still learning that one!

My biggest frustration was spending too much time on finding new techniques in money making online and less time spent in implementing the things I learnt. Thats the most common problem of new to money making online.

I find that striking a balance between doing projects for myself and for my clients and coping with a spot of ill health thrown in has been a hassle, but I just accept that there are good days and bad days, and on the bad days I turn my computer off and go for a walk on the beach.

I am lucky in that I don't mind working at home alone (it was a lot harder when kids were living with us) and I always make a list of jobs I have to do for the next day, before I knock off for the evening. That way I can focus quite quickly in the morning, on doing what needs to be done, before doing what I enjoy doing.

Smart-aleck answer, in the shadow of election day here in Florida:

People constantly hounding me to tell me what my biggest problems are and how they are going to fix them singlehandedly. How's anybody supposed to get any work done when they're being bombed on the phone with recorded calls from current and former politicians?

Serious answer:

Not knowing what I didn't know. Skipping merrily along until tripping on a speed bump I couldn't see coming, because I didn't know there would be such speed bumps.

Especially the ones that, in hindsight, you look at and kick yourself because they're glaringly obvious in the rear view mirror.

I think is to stick with one method and see it through. It is a newbie mistake too...

Not getting caught up in the hype

Learning and educating myself,still busy as there is so much. Juggling work,family and IM life.

Time.

I have to deal with continual interruptions when I'm home. That often means that when I write, I write sentences at a time then go do something else and come back to the writing with my focus completely annihilated and get mentally readjusted. It can take me a whole day to write one article sometimes because of the interruptions - and the time I have to spend outside of the house.

It's hard to get people to understand that they need to leave you alone and your availability is limited whether you are right there or not. I can count on having my ideas blown out of my head at least twice during any article I write. I try to work when others are asleep so it limits their presence. But in the morning when others are banging around it limits my sleep.

All in all, I get by but it really does cause a LOT of frustration to have to juggle so hard all the time. I'd like to just sit down and do what I need to without having to juggle some time.

When I was a newbie, being a newbie, not knowing where to start, not knowing how to get traffic. I honestly wish I had a forum like this back then, would had saved me months of research, though, through that, it made me respect this business more

My biggest problem has always been space. When you go to a 9-5 job, your family doesn't show up to your workplace and go "omg, lets go to McDonalds" or "I'm so busy, can you take _____ to the Dentist?" and then you are a huge jerk that doesn't love your family if you say No. Then, to keep my girlfriend happy, I would put work off to the side for a week and spend time with her but my work would suffer and my income would slow down. I remember when I started out, she was pestering me to go out for dinner because I had promised to but made no specific promise as to when. At the time, I was trying I was trying to finalize things to make a sale and told her to wait. She was more interested in figuring out where to go for dinner, and taking a quick shower, and finding this and that - and nothing could make her understand I was on a deadline and what I was doing was a priority. I put off finalizing the sale for another day which was very unprofessional because myself and the people I was working with were all relying on each other to make something happen. We went out and she ordered a large meal. She ate, was very happy and started asking for a movie, while looking at desert I excused myself to go to the restroom and found our waiter and told him we would have separate checks. Dinner ended, and we were presented with two checks. She didn't understand, but I said "don't worry." I pulled out my card, paid for mine, and the waiter came and picked up mine and looked at her waiting for her to pull out a card or cash or something. She looked at me, confused. I then told her I wasn't going to pay for her check, because I lost the sale (which I hadn't) and could not afford hers. She's now getting pretty pissed off. I explained to her, the things I was doing was priority and would be the things that would provide for not only me, but her too. That it was best if she let me do the things I needed to. She was too pissed to make sense of it, and I left. She had to return the next day to pay her bill or they were going to say she left without paying and would report it to the police. It's been a lot less of a problem since.

My girlfriend asks me all of the time, "Why do you pay so much for an office when you could just work from home like you used to?" - well, it's because I have to.

...and now the WarriorForum knows how much of an asshole I am.

Sending emails back and forth to clients then it comes to the crunch of payment, they just pull out. So annoying.

My biggest struggle was wanting to to do so much and not focusing on thing at a time. I would hear one way that people were making money and then I would hear another success story with someone doing something different and I wanted to try every way to make money online. That just leads to a lot of unfinished projects and not a lot of money. I now focus on one (or two) things at a time and get them done and completed before I even try anything else.

Also, having toddlers at home with you all day long is a pretty big distraction and doesn't always make it easy to concentrate.

Not being able to spell Fustration, I mean, frurstartion, dammit....frus....

Oh bugger it.

Initially, it was the mental adjustment needed when I realized that I didn't have a boss looking over my shoulder anymore, and I was going to be responsible for all the work I did (and didn't do). I was calling the shots now, and my success (or lack of it) would rest entirely on my own shoulders, and it was a little scary at first realizing that I was now completely responsible for it, with no one else to blame or fall back on.

Definitely the shiny objects. And more shiny objects. Then more shiny objects! I'm at the stage now where I realise there are no shiny objects or magic bullets. Thats what everyone has been telling me for ages, but it takes a long time to drum that into your skull and realise what they were saying is true.

All you can do to be successful is work hard, be focused and don't get distracted by the constant bomardment of the next magic pill that is going to solve all your problems. It doesn't exist!

My biggest frustration is actually myself! I know that I am in charge of my own success and since it's a 'work from home' environment I often kill my own work output by getting distracted by other things. I've seriously considered getting an office away from my house to laser target my focus when I work. I've implemented a few tips to get better at this though with some success.
