There is more emphasis on Google Places. This means you need to optimise your Place listings, check your website, and build more LOCAL links. Also think about getting positive reviews for your website. You may want to subscribe to the official Google blog to get updates, and of course search alone for algorithm changes. Good luck.

Google "Google Caffeine". It will start to become clear quickly.

The new algorithm is not that kind to static sites, those with few "quality" backlinks, and will penalize you for directory backlink spamming, failure to add new content on a regular basis, and trying to capitalize on major keywords for a small site.

      Welcome to the future!

Google makes daily changes to its algorithms...

Google does reset its cached results once every few days... During the interim, it may slip new results into the middle of its results, based on an estimation of where a new page should be placed... Then Google will reset its cache and give more accurate results to its users on the next cache update, based on all of the available data...

As such, your ranking could change several times a day, yet those changes may be temporary...

What your ranking looks like after each cache is updated will continue to be a more reliable measure of where you should expect to be able to find your website in the grand scheme of things...
