Being Your Own Vendor Without Clickbank

Are there programs or application that allow you to sell your ebook without Clickbank? I have finished my ebook and know of 4 sites that I believe it would do great on. The thing is none of the sites appear to be pushing clickbank (or other affiliate) items. Because of this I would like to present an alternative if they have no interest in setting up a clickbank account to receive payments.

I think the best solution would be to track their sales myself and provide payment accordingly. Is there software that tracks sales and provide the affiliate with their payment without having to use a place such as clickbank?

I think e-junkie and getdpd.com both support affiliate programs and are cheaper than clickbank. I don't think either does the payment management though.

You could use Paypal. If you have a personal Paypal account, you can convert it to business. You can then create as many [buy now] buttons as you want, and each one can be coded to a different item (or affiliate). Each button calls its own download page, and you host the download pages on your web site. Because you know how many of each payment you receive, you will know what to pay each of your affiliates. (you can also get web statistics for the traffic to the download pages to verify) This works find as long as you only have relatively few affiliates and products. Once you get much beyond 4 or 5 products and 5 or at the most 10 affiliates, I'd be looking VERY seriously for an automated solution like Clickbank.

However, it is a way to get yourself going with a few affiliates without extra cost other than the time it takes to generate the download pages (10-15 minutes each) and the links on Paypal (about 5 minutes each). Making 25 of these at a whack (5 affiliates, times 5 products) would take you all day, so you can see it isn't a good long term approach if you plan to expand either affiliates or products, but it can be effective if you want to start on the cheap, or do some testing.

The advantage of clickbank is the marketplace and potential to get affiliates selling your product or e-book. this can multiply your sales quite considerably.

I've just started using e-junkie for my products and I'm finding it a really convenient solution for protected downloads.

We just finished setting up our own order processing and affiliate management system using DLGuard, iDevAffiliate, and a SSL protected server.

Not the cheapest solution when you compare to the 50$ listing fee with Clickbank, but it all comes back in the end, and I prefer handling this in-house as it provides us greater flexibility in our interractions with affiliates.
