what is the best way to do article marketing ?

With article marketing there is a danger that you're going to outrank yourself for your keyword

I'm thinking of buying an article directory submitter

- so how exactly do you avoid duplicate content

-and also the fact that these places can beat you in the Serps


so how exactly can you get traffic article marketing?

    Focus on about 20 good quality article directories. Watch the pace. They will not outrank you if you put enough effort into link building. Besides, if the article is good it will drive traffic and you can link it to your site. About content, you could use a spinning tool or you can write unique ones for each.

    Just take a look at all Alexa Smith's contributions to this forum. She will teach you everything you need to know, especially about articles and duplicate content.

    Mangozoom's posts are also extremely enlightening.

    Also so a search on "article marketing" and "EZine Articles", you will find enough help to keep you reading all day.

      You are quite right. She's extremely helpful for me also. When I started her posts and helps was great. She's one of those people I am always thankful for.

    If your article is good and serves its real purpose of pushing traffic to your website, it does not matter that the website who published your article can outrank you for your own keywords...

    What matters is putting your marketing offer in front of the people most likely to buy what you are selling, and then to get them to go to your website to buy from you...

    If your article is sitting on EzineArticles for example, and your article in EZA ranks well in Google for your target keyword, if you can get that reader to your website to consider your offer, then you will have met the challenge in front of you...

    I don't care where people read my articles...

    If I have made a convincing case to the reader, the reader will visit my website and consider my offer...

      Bill is spot-on (as usual!) The key is to get your expertise out there, anywhere you can. The more places people can see you and your knowledge, the more of an expert you are going to look like. The goal is to get targeted traffic to your site, period. If they find your site in a Google search, that's great. If they find an article on a directory, love it, and visit your site, that's great, too. Don't get too caught up in the little stuff. Instead, focus on creating great articles, distributing them to a variety of good directories, and establishing yourself as an expert.

    Every site I launch uses article marketing as a base of promotion. Here is a list from Jack Humphrey that has my favorite directories:
    Top 21: The Best Article Directory List

    I stopped submitting to the 100's of article directories out there in favor of submitting to just a few "top tier" directories like ezine, american chronicle, helium, etc. The reason for that is because these directories send great link juice in addition to sending real clicks to my site.

        Hi Ben,

        I don't spin the articles when submitting to the top tier spots. Yes this is done by hand (just not by my hands

        A tip for submitting faster that I share with my staff is to open all of the directory login screens in one browser window(firefox).

        Depending on how many sites you use, you could have 5 - 20 tabs in that one browser window. Then save ALL TABS in a firefox bookmark folder called "Article Directories."

        Now they have a set of bookmarked tabs they can open in a new window giving them easy access to all directories.

        Top tier spots get all unique content. I know that can be a pain for some. These are such high quality directories that spin content will often be rejected. If you're really good with spinning and can create a highly unique (60%+) and readable article then you'll be ok.

    The main aim of article marketing is to give you as much traffic as possible and spreading your links throughout the net. I agree that focusing on top high ranking article directories will help you get the best amount of traffic you can find. But of course, don’t forget to also focus on the content so readers will find it helpful and really get the impression of being experts.

    You get traffic from ranking high in the search engines for your articles. If you can afford to buy an article spinner there are better options for you.

    Most of the article directories that will accept spun articles will need links built to those articles anyways. If the article directory has good internal linking, low bad neighborhood links, and a good amount of inbound links then it is good. But do most article directories that accept spun articles have those?

    I would say have someone submit or a company for that matter. For instance my own company can submit and actually promote articles on tons of the top social media sites including Digg and Reddit which can increase traffic and if you hit the FP which a lot of our clients do varying based on content then you can see traffic in the tens of thousands.

    Social Media is a great way to gain subscribers and views

    do article directories have to be published on your site ? or can they just be sent without having a blog post ?

    or are they not suppose to be on your blog at all ?
