If you had one wish.......

Hi All,

Last night I had a few interesting conversations with friends who own businesses and it seems to me that everyone has a different perspective as to whats important to their business........

I asked......If you had one wish which improved your business, what would it be and what would it cost you......

In reality I didn't get an answer that I expected, their answers were....more profit, more money etc......

But it didn't highlight HOW they got more profit or more money.......

So I rephrased the question......

What ONE thing do you need to make your business more successful and what would it cost you.....

The answer I got from them was.....the same.....so I gave up rephrasing and got to the point with them....

If you want more money..... you need to make more sales.....

To get more sales......you have to convert more traffic.....so provide more value....

To get more sales......you must increase your traffic/prospects......

So based on that......

What ONE thing do you need to make your business more successful and what would it cost you?

    My wish would be more traffic - more traffic will bring more sales which brings more money - so definitely more traffic!

      Traffic has gotta be there! Seems to me its probably one of the biggest issues in this industry!

      So far we have:

      Traffic
      Conversions

      Without the two.......our business is down the pipe!

    Silly as it sounds, the thing that would help my online business the most would be winning the lottery. With a lottery win in the bank, I wouldn't need to worry about money because the mortgages would be paid off, etc... and, I wouldn't be as concerned about return on investment for my time, or be distracted by all of the other clutter of "getting by". This would give me the opportunity to be more creative, to relax and think out of the box, and that's when the greatest leaps in profitability seem to come. Without the concerns or need to generate income, either with a day job or increased online revenues, it is much easier to get the clarity needed to make significant advances with the business.

    Everyone I've personally known that has been really successful has ground his or her way out of the need to put in "required hours" to make a living, and once they got to their critical mass number, and no longer had to worry, that's when the ol' brain kicked into high gear and provided the insights to really take the business to the next level, and beyond.

      Return on your invested time is crucial, and if the IM business is one of the sources of income, its easy to become unfocused due to a need to settle outstanding bills etc......and as a result we rush or don't do things properly.

      One thing that helped me to get started was the notion that most online businesses fail to make a profit in the first 2/3 years at times, whilst others (68% or so) simply fail after 5/6 years......

      So in my case i've been going through all the hoops to make sure it has strong foundations.

      But a lottery win would be nice
