Best Installable Affiliate Software?

I'm looking for a STRICTLY affiliate tracking software/service at a cheap price.

I want to start doing some affiliate programs at a basic level BEFORE I make the jump to 1Shopping or Infusion or whatever I decide to use in the future.

What have you guys used / heard of that works well?

    Does it have to be installable on your server?

    If so, I've heard good things about Post Affiliate Pro and iDevAffiliate.

    It doesn't sound to me like you're confident in the idea, but more like you're testing the waters. Do some more research and be very set in your mind that an affiliate program is the right way to go for you. After that, get iDev Affiliate - its been around for a very long time and is consistently good. I've used it to run three different affiliate programs and it has always worked well for me.

      No I'm absolutely certain I need an affiliate program, but I am uncertain about where to turn.

      My copywriter suggests 1ShoppingCart, but I want to make SURE there is nothing that is cheaper/more effective just as an affiliate platform.

      The only reason I don't want to "dive in" is because I'm not making any money yet. I am fairly confident I will profit and that affiliates will be a key way to do so and I have people who actively want to promote my product.
