Wordpress Gallery with links to external sites?

I have been searching on the Warrior Forum and going through pages of gallery plugins for WordPress but still have not found what I am looking for.

I have a new blog I am putting together where I will have more photos than I would normally use. I want to put them in a gallery like NextGen or Lightbox, but the feature I find missing is the ability to link to an external URL from the displayed image.

If I have a visitor looking at product images and they suddenly feel inspired to buy I want the link right there staring them in the face.

Is anyone using a gallery plugin for Wordpress which looks good and allows external linking by image?

    I did run across one possible hack to NexGen to get this working. I'll wait to see if anyone has other suggestions before I go this route.

    I'm not 100% sure this does what I want since it refers to external links on the thumbnails, not anything about the displayed image.
