Good quality web-cam for IM product creation?

Hey guys,

I need a new web-cam with which to create video products. Which will involve me talking at the camera plus some close up demonstrations

Do you have any recommendations?

What is the minimum megapixels and other specs I need for good quality videos that are product worthy.

  • I honestly don't know how far webcams have come since I last used one a couple years ago, but here's what I use.

    For talking head videos, HD Flip cam. I've heard a lot of people like this Kodak camera, so someone will probably come along and say that.

    For screen capture videos, Camtasia.

    • The problem is that I do quite a lot of travelling and don't want to bring an expensive HD camera with me.
  • Mine's HD Flip Mino... just a couple hundred bucks

    • I've used both the Kodak Zi8 and the Kodak Playsport. I like the Zi8 better because it has a mic input port and has macro mode for closeup shots. The Playsport is a little cheaper and goes underwater (if you have a need for that).

  • Nothing beat CANON DSLR. there are few models out there for a few bucks.
